The Resident Evil 4 remake has been making new additions to the original game as well as changing things around. A couple of these additions include the new charm system, which is a fun way to reward players for using the Shooting Gallery, and the side quests that have been added. Many of these side quests are relatively easy to do, such as killing rats, or shooting every blue medallion. Some of them, however, are more difficult, such as the side quests that need you to kill mini-bosses to complete them. These can be a massive ammo dump, but the risk is worth it, seeing as you get a ton of spinels for completing them. Here’s our guide on how to complete the Merciless Knight side quest in Resident Evil 4 remake.

How to complete the Merciless Knight side quest in Resident Evil 4 remake

The main objective of this side quest in Resident Evil 4 remake is to kill the knight that is in the Mausoleum. When you want to tackle this quest, you’re going to want to go back into the area you were in while playing as Ashley. This area can be located at the back right of the Grand Hall with the three-headed statue, if you can’t find it. Once you’re in there, this should seem pretty familiar to you, as you were just here not too long ago. You’re going to need to progress to the room with the staircase downwards, which leads to the room with the armored knights that you had to solve a gong puzzle in after going down an elevator, as this is the Mausoleum.

How to beat the golden knight

Once you’re there, you’ll notice that a golden knight is in the center of the room, with other knights around it, this is the Merciless Knight quest objective. This golden knight in Resident Evil 4 remake can be a bit of an ammo dump, as mentioned above, but with precision, you should be able to beat it. The trick is to get behind it and aim for the flesh around its neck area. This should then make it kneel for a melee attack and also do significant damage.

We recommend that you take care of the other knights first, as they take less ammo to fight, and can be a pain when trying to get behind the golden knight in Resident Evil 4 remake. You can expose these knights’ plagas and use a flash grenade to immediately kill them, if you’re trying to save some ammo.

There are also jars you can break in this room in the four corners, which should give you ammo and gunpowder to beat this mini-boss. You can also use the breadth of the room to take advantage of the situation, meaning you can get behind it easier to hit that weak spot. One opening you can use to do this is when the knight strikes down. It stays there for a second or two, meaning you can use this to get behind it. As long as you keep moving, this fight should be pretty easy. Once you get the helmet off the Merciless Knight in Resident Evil 4 remake, this fight becomes significantly easier due to having way more to aim for.

After you’ve killed the Merciless Knight in Resident Evil 4 remake, you will have completed the quest. Congratulations!
