Season 2 of Diablo 4 adds a whole host of new Unique items to the game, many of which have proven powerful enough to drag once-obscure builds out of the shadows and into the spotlight. One such item is the Blue Rose, a poetically-named Unique Ring that lets Ice Shards Sorcerer builds plant their flag in the current meta.
As with all Uniques though, actually getting your hands on a Blue Rose can be a daunting prospect, given the immense rarity of the item in normal gameplay. Thankfully, there are some tips and strategies you can employ to make your hunt for this frosty fingerwear much more tolerable. Read on to learn how to get the Blue Rose in Diablo 4.
How to slip on the Blue Rose in Diablo 4
First and foremost, since Blue Rose is a Unique item, you’ll need to reach at least World Tier 3 before you’ll have the chance to find one. You’ll have even better opportunities to do so once you hit World Tier 4, but 3 is the absolute minimum.
Once you’re Tiered up appropriately, you’ll be able to happen upon the Blue Rose at essentially any point in the game. It could drop from a random enemy, be found in a random chest, or be given as a random reward at the end of a Nightmare Dungeon. The chance of getting a Unique item this way is very low, and there’s quite a wide pool of them in the game, so you’re highly unlikely to get a Blue Rose just using those methods.
Instead, you’re better off target farming the Blue Rose, which you can do by challenging Echo of Duriel, one of the five new endgame bosses that arrived alongside Season 2. You’ll need to reach World Tier 4, and complete a convoluted summoning process, before you can even challenge this boss. Once you do, you’ll find that he’s the most difficult thing that Diablo 4 has to offer: a level 100 boss that surpasses even Uber Lilith in terms of aggression and damage. Both the summoning process and the battle itself will be very difficult and time-consuming to do solo, so I’d recommend taking on Echo of Duriel in a group if possible.
Once defeated, Echo of Duriel has a 50% chance to drop a Unique, and the Blue Rose is one of the Uniques in his drops pool. This is a much more reliable method than trying to stumble upon a Blue Rose in other parts of the game, and his summoning process, which requires you to defeat Echo of Varshan and Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint, is likely to land you additional Uniques as well.
And that’s that: a full guide on how to get the Blue Rose in Diablo 4. It’s a powerful Ring that gives you a chance to deal extra cold damage on every hit, triply so if the enemy being hit is frozen. This pairs incredibly well with the high attack speed of the Sorcerer class, as well as freeze-synergistic Skills like Frost Nova and Ice Shards.
