The latest trailer for Keen Games’ Enshrouded takes a behind-the-scenes look at how the development team came to craft its unique voxel-based game world.
Art Director Jonas Drinnenberg dives into some of the more technical points in this behind-the-scenes video, showcasing the important link between creative and computing elements in Enshrouded.
Drinnenberg states that Enshrouded’s custom voxel-based engine has allowed their team to have a great deal of flexibility and precise editing. This, in turn, has helped them create a cohesive visual aesthetic beyond traditional means.

Creating the world of Enshrouded
A game of survival, crafting, and action RPG combat, Enshrouded will venture into the Shroud throughout as they unlock the secrets of a fallen realm in Embervale. No need for players to go at it alone; the title features 16 player co-op support.
Enshrouded will launch in Early Access on January 24 for the PC via Steam – all those interested can wishlist the game on its official game page. Console releases are also planned for the future.
