The Sujimon minigame in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is so deep that calling it a “minigame” feels disrespectful. Catching ’em all is a huge part of Ichiban’s journey throughout Hawaii, but if you want to defeat the Discreet Four, you’ll need to awaken and evolve your Sujimon team.
Just like Pokemon, leveling up your Sujimon team is key to defeating stronger trainers and climbing the Sujimon League ladder. Not all Sujimon are created equal, however, and some are much stronger than others. You can make every Sujimon stronger through awakening, but the best Sujimon can evolve into stronger versions of themselves.
How to Awaken Sujimon in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth
Awakening Sujimon is an easy way to make your team a little bit stronger. With each awakening level, your Sujimon’s stats will slightly increase and a star will be added to their rank. Each Sujimon can be awakened three times, after which it will be eligible for evolution if applicable.
To awaken a Sujimon, you have to consume duplicates. It’s a good idea to hit up as many Sujimon raids as possible when exploring the streets of Hawaii, even if you see a Sujimon that you already have.
Once you’re ready to awaken a Sujimon, head to a Sujimon station and select the Awakening option. Then, you’ll be able to choose which Sujimon you want to awaken and which Sujimon you want to infuse. The first Awakening level requires just one duplicate for infusion, the second awakening level requires two, and the third and final awakening level requires three.
Obtaining duplicate Sujimon for awakening can be a pain since the Sujimon gacha is random and there are only so many raids throughout Hawaii, but thankfully, there’s an easier way to do things. Sujimon Committee agents can be used to awaken any Sujimon and they’re incredibly common in the Sujimon gacha. Just spam a bunch of Sujimon Gacha Tickets or fork over the cash for a bunch of pulls and you’ll amass a collection of Committee Agents that can be used as awakening fodder.
How to Evolve Sujimon in Infinite Wealth
To evolve a Sujimon, you have to awaken it to the maximum level of three stars first. Once a Sujimon reaches three stars, it will be highlighted in the evolution menu at a Sujimon station. There’s no level requirement for evolution either, so all you need is a three-star awakening level to evolve a Sujimon. Not every Sujimon can evolve, however, so check the evolution menu to see every Sujimon in your possession that is capable of evolving. Even if they’re not ready to evolve, they’ll still appear grayed out on the menu.
Evolving Sujimon twice
Just like Pokemon, some Sujimon can evolve twice. Extreme Sportsman evolves into Poach Roach, for example, and then you can evolve Poach Roach into Big Endgame Hunter. Evolution raises a Sujimon’s stats way more than Awakening, and they’ll learn new attacks with every evolution stage as well. The hardest Sujimon battles in the game will require a team of evolved Sujimon, so stock up on duplicates and awaken your strongest fighters so you can evolve them to their best forms.
Evolving your Sujimon will also improve their combat capabilities outside of the Sujimon minigame if you use Ichiban’s Sujimancer Job. You only need to beat one member of the Discreet Four to unlock Ichi’s Sujimancer abilities, but since it uses the Sujimon that you’ve captured for its attacks, you’ll still want to level up and evolve your team so you can deal the most damage during battles.
