In Palworld, Rayhound is a Pal that makes for a great mount as well as a powerful one. Although not the best for Base life, they certainly are good at powering anything electric.
Catching a Rayhound in Palworld
Rayhounds have quite an extensive spawn area in Palworld, although it isn’t welcome for beginners. you will see them strolling around the incredible hot desert island in the north of the map, so make sure to bring heat-protective equipment and gear.
They’ll typically travel in pairs, so you’ll have to be ready to fight more than one. Rayhounds spawn in around level 30 or above, so you must make sure you and your Pals are on par to beat them. Although they have a large spawn area, you may have to travel to actually find some.
To capture Rayhounds, make sure you’ve got at least some Giga Spheres on standby, or Hyper Spheres if you don’t want the trouble. These are strong Pals, so you’ll need strong spheres.
As Electric-type Pals, Ground attacks will do significant damage. Make sure your Pals aren’t too powerful when taking them on, otherwise they may kill them. So try not to bring Ground-types to prevent that from happening. Also avoid Water-types, or they may become incapacitated in the warfare.
Either allow your Pals to weaken the Rayhound, or you can use your handgun to whittle its health down. Soon, after some luck, you’ll be able to catch one.

Breeding a Rayhound in Palworld
If you’d rather breed and hatch a Rayhound to save the journey, or if you want one earlier than your level will allow, then thankfully you can. There are many breeding combinations that may result in a Rayhound, listed below:
- Penking and Caprity
- Celaray and Incineram
- Melpaca and Surfent
- Melpaca and Incineram
- Eikthyrdeer and Surfent
it seems that Incineram and Surfent are rather key players with breeding a Rayhound. Although, ironically, they won’t breed one together.
Penking and Caprity is one of the easiest paris to get, as Penking is an easy Field Boss that you can capture. You can find the boss fight in the screenshot below, right under the topmost Great Eagle Statue.
Caprities also frequently spawn around that area, so you should be able to catch both Pals in one run. Just make sure one’s a male and the other is a female!
Now that you know of both ways to bag you a Rayhound, why don’t you learn how to capture or breed an Anubis?
