In Nightingale, you will soon be tasked with gaining both the Astrolabe and Provisioner Major Realm Cards. I’ll be taking you through the whole process of getting to their Sites of Power, taking them on, and claiming the cards. Let’s get started.

Where are the Astrolabe and Provisioner Sites of Power in Nightingale?

One question that most of us will be asking ourselves is “Where is it, then?” as some of us may expect at least one of the Sites of Power to be in the Antiquarian Forest Realm. One glance at the map doesn’t seem to confirm this, though.

This is because they’re both found in your Abeyance Realm, and now both have markers on your map. If you approached these structures before, they would not have opened for you. Now, however, they will.

Note that all Sites of Power for all the Realm Cards will be present in your Abeyance Realm.

Preparing for the Astrolabe and Provisioner Sites of Power in Nightingale

Like the Antiquarian Site of Power, you’ll need a certain Gear Score and supplies before you go to tackle them. The Astrolabe Site of Power is much easier than the Provisioner Site of Power, so it will be wise to tackle that one first.

The Astrolabe Site of Power requires a Gear Score of 30, and the Provisioner Site of Power requires a Gear Score of 40. The best way to reach these Gear Scores is by upgrading your Simple equipment. Once a Simple item is upgraded, its Gear Score doubles, allowing you to reach a Gear Score of 40 should all of your gear be upgraded. You will want to complete Encounters in any Antiquarian Realm until you’ve garnered 360 T1 Essence.

Although it isn’t needed to increase your Gear Score, I would seriously recommend that you upgrade your Simple Slingbow.

If you have any Infusions, apply them all. Like last time, make sure you’ve got a recruit, lots of food, and at least 5 servings of Healing Salve (restock before you take on the next one). Applying an Infusion to an item does increase its Gear Score slightly. This could allow you to reach a Gear Score of 40 without upgrading all of your equipment. However, you may regret not upgrading the lot anyway.

I’d recommend you reach a Gear Score of over 40 before taking on the Astrolabe Site of Power anyway, as it’ll simply be easier.

Defeating the Astrolabe Site of Power in Nightingale

The Astrolabe Site of Power in Nightingale looks like a giant observatory. You may have seen it in previous travels in your Abeyance Realm. Should your Gear Score be over 30, the red gate will open up.

A new enemy will be meeting you in the Astrolabe Site of Power. A floating Bound creature that shoots projectiles. These menaces are irritating to fight, so it’s well worth using your Slingbow. An upgraded Slingbow can one-shot these irritants out of the sky. Make sure to shoot them down before you engage any other enemy.

In the Astrolabe are plenty of Bound creatures with swords that will lunge and slash, dealing heavy damage. Make sure to keep your guard up. You will block all incoming damage as long as you block. So allow them to hit, block, then counter-attack. Make sure to aim for their heads.

Upon clearing the first gaggle of enemies upon entering the Site of Power, you can head up or down. Heading up will meet you with another Realmic Transmuter to lay down another Minor Realm Card. There will be another fight on the roof.

If you’re concerned with claiming the Astrolabe Realm Card only, then you can ignore the roof and keep heading down. This Site of Power doesn’t go as deep as the Antiquarian’s, but there will still be some more encounters before you reach the boss room.

Hot tip, you can take advantage of this lip when fighting to cheese all the enemies in this area.

When you reach the bottom, you’ll find the Astrolabe Realm Card, but it’s currently locked. Upon pressing a button, you’ll activate the Fabled Automaton Bishop that’s sole purpose is to protect it.

Fighting the Fabled Automaton Bishop

This boss is different from the Fabled Automaton Knight. It has more actions, even if it is more fragile.

Initially, the boss will be surrounded by a power shield that negates all damage. Don’t mind this, as when you break through it, it’ll be vulnerable to damage.

Upon the start of the fight, the Fabled Automaton Bishop will spawn strange minor automatons, also benefitting from the power shield. While they’re harassing you, the boss will back off, surround itself in explosive glyphs, and shoot you in a series of six.

Yeah, this boss is a handful. But it is easier than it sounds.

Make sure there is a pillar between you and the boss so its projectiles don’t hurt you while you’re dealing with the smaller bots. Keep smashing through their defenses until they’re vulnerable, then simply don’t stop bashing them. They have a low attack rate, so you can take advantage of that and dispatch them quickly.

Once they are dealt with, you are free to deal with the Fabled Automaton Bishop. It will routinely teleport elsewhere and spawn in explosive glyphs to protect it. The best thing to do here is to keep shooting it with your upgraded Slingbow. This boss doesn’t have a great health pool, so it’ll fall in no time.

However, if you forgot to restock on Rock Marbles, then you can still handle this fight purely melee. Simply find a small gap between the explosive glyphs and jump over it. You’ll be able to get loads of great hits in before it teleports elsewhere. Keep this up, and you’ll win.

Upon the defeat of the Fabled Automaton Bishop, you can claim the Astrolabe Realm Card in the middle of the room and teleport back to your Estate from your map. Well done!

Defeating the Provisioner Site of Power in Nightingale

The Provisioner Site of Power in Nightingale looks like a giant mine or refinery. You may have seen it in previous travels in your Abeyance Realm. Should your Gear Score be over 40, the red gate will open up.

Now that the Astrolabe Site of Power is done, you can go ahead and challenge the Provisioner Site of Power in Nightingale. Make sure your ammunition, food, and Healing Salve supplies are stocked back up before heading in. You may also have some potions to your name at this point, so bring some of those along, too.

This Site of Power is more dangerous than other Sites of Power, although there are minimal encounters. However, it does give rise to a new enemy type. An awful Bound creature who adorns a mechanism that allows it to shoot and disperse flame. It will deal great area damage and suppress you into corners. The only way to deal with this fiend is to take it out from afar using your Slingbow.

Keep plunging deeper through the derelict mineshaft. Very soon, you’ll come across the final chamber. However, once pressing the button, you’ll be met with a familiar face. The Fabled Automaton Knight is back to play, although it’s learned a new trick since your last parlay.

Defeating the Fabled Automaton Knight

This boss has a lot more health than the others, so it may be worth using a healing potion if you’re beaten up already.

The boss will be performing the same lunge and slash that you’re used to, although it’ll be striking twice before taking a breather. Also, I observed it performing some sort of spray attack, although it only did it once.

The only strategy for this boss is simply to duck out of the way for the two attacks, strike it with your Maul, then back off again. The boss is very fast, and will be hot on your heels should you try to run away. If you don’t want to get too close, then hip firing with the Slingbow is an adequate measure as you keep dodging the attacks. The Slingbow does much less damage, however.

You will be needing some Healing Salve, and maybe a Potion, too.

Before too long, the Fabled Automaton Knight will fall, and you can claim the Provisioner Realm Card in the center of the room. Well done!

Crafting the Astrolabe and Provisioner Realm Cards in Nightingale

Now that you’ve unlocked both the Astrolabe and Provisioner Realm Cards, you can finally make them to traverse into two whole new Realms. Exciting!

Your Enchanter’s Focus is where you’ll be making them, like with the others. They both cost one Paper, one Ink, and 25 Essence Dust.

Once they’re made, you can use your Crude Portal or the Realm’s Portal to travel into a Realm of your choice.

Now that you know everything about claiming the Astrolabe and Provisioner Realm Cards in Nightingale, why don’t you check out how to heal a sprained ankle or broken leg?
