So you have decided to take the leap and fight for Managed Democracy with the big boys. No more fighting small fry for you, it’s the big leagues now. But, oh my, the big leagues are monstrous. High-level missions in Helldivers 2 can be overwhelming, but I have a few tips and tricks up my sleeve.

Don’t go it alone

A lonely Helldiver is a weak Helldiver. If you’re just getting into the harder levels in Helldivers 2, I would recommend going in with a squad. Not only that, but make sure you actually stick together while out there in the field.

Too many times, I have watched one solo player try to go it alone, searching for those precious Samples, only to be stomped by a Titan. If you’re too far away from the pack, and your body is under a swarm, you’ve goofed. You’ll lose your gear and, more importantly, your samples. Stick together for greatness.

Don’t rush it

Of course, you’re a good Super Citizen and want to save Super Earth from the waves of rebel scum, but don’t run before you can walk. Take the stages one by one, unlocking the required equipment and stratagems. The game has been designed so that you will progress at a given speed.

However, if you want to leap right forward and take on the high-level missions in Helldivers 2, have a squad with the gear already unlocked. Gear isn’t locked behind levels, so you can ask a friend to drop in a shield and anti-tank weapon for you.

Get high-level Helldivers gear

You can’t go into the field with a peashooter and expect to be able to take down a heavily armoured enemy. Chargers, Titans, and many other enemies are armoured up to the eyeballs. How do you expect to take down high-level enemies in Helldivers 2 with weak weapons?

Stratagems

Before you drop into the harder levels, you need Stratagems and weapons that will bring the pain. Stratagems can only be unlocked over time, unlike weapons that your comrades can bring in. With Stratagems, you will need things like the Orbital Laser and Orbital Rail Cannon. These two Stratagems can take down even the biggest enemies hands-free. You could also bring along a 500 kg bomb, but your squad mates might have something to say about it.

Weapons & Gear

When it comes to weapons, it is possible to start fighting the high-level missions when you’re under-levelled in Helldivers 2. Simply have one of your more qualified comrades drop in what you need. I would recommend a Shield Generator Pack and something with serious anti-armour capabilities, such as the Rail Gun.

When attempting the high-level missions on Helldivers 2, armour penetration is key. Without it, your team will be quickly overrun with enemies they cannot damage. It is also important to know the weak spots of all your enemies. A lot of the time, it is the legs, like with Titans. However, Chargers also have a little face you can unload clips of Managed Democracy into.

Stealth, Communication, and Direction

I cannot stress enough how important it is not to trigger absolutely every enemy on the map. Success comes from being stealthy, believe it or not. If you want to know how teams get through high-level Helldivers 2 missions quickly, it’s by communicating their goals, avoiding patrols, and knowing when to run.

There is a hidden stealth element in Helldivers 2 that not many know about but quickly learn when walking past a patrol consisting of Bile Titans and Chargers. All of a sudden, crawling on your belly and staying out of eyesight is a great tactic.

Take down bug nests and hit the objectives without raising all hell, and you should be able to just about survive the higher-level missions in Helldivers 2. Stick together as a team with a fixed goal, and you’ll be collecting all those ultra-rare samples in no time.
