Channeling the trashy comedy and low-brow style of 70s and 80s Grindhouse flicks, Brazilian developer Games From the Abyss and games publisher DreadXP have announced their survivor horror title The Lacerator.

Featuring retro-inspired low poly visuals and tank controls, The Lacerator will have players exploring a branching environment, fighting enemies, and solving puzzles to escape a hell on earth.

Players must also be aware of the titular Lacerator and his many traps, however. Fall prey to one of these dastardly traps, and players will lose a limb in real time, greatly changing one’s gameplay options. Needless to say, exploration – and fighting – are both crucial for survival.

The Lacerator will also task players with finding items and solving puzzles to progress. As players manage scavenged resources, they’ll be able to experience multiple play paths – and even endings.
