Announced during a special developer livestream, Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Galactic Threads will roll out worldwide this December, with story missions launching in 2025.
Scope out the major updates that will be a part of Star Wars: The Old Republic Galactic Threads below:
Galactic Threads immediately follows the Desperate Defiance storyline, with players (and their Alliance) racing to find Darth Malgus and stop his pans.
Players will also set out to seek answers surrounding Darth Nul’s holocron and the Hidden Chain’s ambitions. These Story Missions will take players to Hoth, Tatooine, and the digsite at Nul’s temple of Elom.
Dynamic Encounters in Star Wars: The Old Republic will serve as new world content players can explore to bring life to each world. As players explore planets, they will experience Dynamic Encounters, or can alternatively search them out on their map.
Said Dynamic Encounters run the gamut from taking out Hidden Chain forces to herding escaped Banthas running amok in a space port.
This will debut on Hoth and Tatooine with 7.6, and will have a wealth of rewards ripe for earning.
The Propagator Core XR-53 serves as the newest lair boss, launching in Star Wars: The Old Republic in both Story and Veteran difficulties.
Originating from one of the many broken pieces when the Emperor’s Fortress crashed onto Ilum, the XR-53 is a Rakatan droid replicator trying to fix itself by harvesting resources but its core functions have been disrupted.
Modernization of the Star Wars: The Old Republic experience continues with art updates to Tython, Korriban, Hoth, and Ilum. Not only will there be a large focus on the starter planets, character models like heads will also see improved fidelity.
Updates to players’ characters will also feature updated character textures, along with ocular specularity and with lighting, and shader improvements.
Texture changes are starting in this update with Human, Chiss, Cyborg, Miralukan, Mirialan, Togruta, Rattataki, and Zabrak models.
