Dubbed “Shadows of the Deep,” the world of Ubisoft Singapore’s Skull and Bones is getting that much bigger with the launch of Season 4.
Skull and Bones Season 4’s “Shadows of the Deep” update brings the following content at no additional charge.
Sea Lord
Vikram Rajan has invaded the seas on the long-lost Schaduw, threatening your hold on the Indian Ocean. Vikram is driven by anger, particularly against the Dutch Merchant Company and its Commodore Jonas “Wolf Hunter“ Vanderkill.
New Ship & Weapons
Players will be able to acquire the Garuda ship. Said ship is able to deal optimal damage at long range, specializing in Piercing weapons. Unique new weapons including the Soulshield Springloader, which creates a dome of Soul Magic to protect your allies, or the Gatling Gun, will be incorporated into the game.
New Difficulty
Skull and Bones Season 4 features a Mythic difficulty tier. While in the Mythic tier, players will take on seasonal bosses who have modified combat, like increased rate of fire, enhanced damage, and increased movement speed.
Time-Limited Events
The Azure Solstice limited-time event will see the Azure Fleet invade the Indian Ocean. Defeating them will reward players with a Life-Stealing Long Gun. During the event, players will also be able to give Winter Gifts to various NPCs in return for reward chests. Megalodons will take over the seas during the Enter the Nian event, culminating in an elite boss warship that will require teamwork to take down.
New Game Mode and threats
In the new Ghost Ship Defense mode, players will have to protect their owned manufactories from a ghostly assailant looking to take over your Helm operations. Additionally, Vikram has raised two sea monsters from the dead – the Tylosaurus and the Megalodon – both looking to take their revenge.

New to Skull & Bones? Be sure to check out our review of the base game, which we scored a favorable 80/100:
“If you can stomach the rough seas of the early game, Skull & Bones has a bounty of live-service content on offer.
The end-game mechanics and loot loop rely completely and entirely on the combat system that, thankfully, is one that delivers with every firing of a cannon.
Taking over towns and cities, conquering trade routes, climbing the leaderboards – Skull & Bones is a thrilling ride. It’s just a shame that it can take 30–40 hours to get there.”
All those interested can get Skull and Bones on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and can also purchase Skull and Bones from the official Steam page.
