All the way back in the original Sims, your suburban paradise could be threatened by a thief. Bedecked in white and black stripes, the thief even had their own theme song that would play as they snuck around your property looking for valuables. Burglars reappeared in the Sims 2 and 3, but have never been a part of The Sims 4 – until now. With the rollout of its latest free update, you can finally get robbed in The Sims 4.
Over the last 11 years, The Sims 4 has transformed into one of the most robust simulation games around. But its suburban fantasy has always felt a little incomplete without the possibility of robbery. This incarnation of the burglar is called Robin Banks and like previous versions, she’ll stalk your home to find valuable items and cart them off the property. Your sims can thwart her aspirations with a quick phone call to the police, a fist fight, or a burglar alarm. They can even upgrade the alarm to automatically call the police, break less often, or even zap the burglar once detected. If your sims want to take up arms themselves, it helps to be fit.
You won’t need to get any expansions to run into Ms. Robin Banks, because the update is arriving for free for everyone with the base game. If you do already have some, the update will interface with them in interesting ways. For example, if you have a dog through the Pets expansion, the dog will chase any robbers away. However, even ordinary Sims can have interesting reactions. Notable characters in The Sims 4 have been given up to 50 unique reactions (depending on what expansion packs you have) and players can choose from 37 interactions of their own. You can even befriend Ms. Banks and move her into your household.
The new free update for The Sims 4 that adds Robin Banks the burglar is live right now.
