Not only can you unlock top-tier cosmetics by proving your mettle in the base game and Zombies, but this time around, Warzone will also be offering up the goods, provided you meet the criteria.

Black Ops 6 camos explained

With the introduction of Warzone camos, you’ll be able to earn Black Ops 6 camos across the base game, Zombies, and the battle royale game. Camos fall under three tiered categories: military, unique, and mastery.

Each category has to be cleared before you can move on to the next one for a weapon. For example, you won’t be able to start earning the unique XM4 camos until you’ve unlocked all the military ones for it, and so on. In Black Ops 6 there are nine military, two unique, and four mastery camos per weapon. Across all three CoD games, that triples to 27 military, six unique, and 12 mastery camos.

How to unlock BO6 military camos

To unlock the military camos in Black Ops 6, you need to complete a challenge for each skin. Most weapons feature the same progressive milestones, but it does vary depending on what mode you’re playing.

How to unlock BO6 special camos

• Complete the nine military camo milestones for your desired weapon.
• Complete the two unique camo challenges – one per camo – in any order.
  • Unique camo challenge criteria are based on the playstyle of the weapon.
  • Unique camos can only be earned with their specific weapon. Once unlocked, they can be applied to any other weapon.

How to unlock BO6 mastery camos

Black Ops 6 multiplayer mastery camos can be considered a tier system within a tier system. In BO6 multiplayer, for example, Gold can be considered the easiest to unlock, while Dark Matter is the most elusive. As with the general camo system, you’ll have to unlock the first camo before you can move on to the second, and so on.

For example, if you want to unlock Mastery Camo Tier 3 and 4 for an assault rifle, you need to unlock Master Camo Tier 2 on every assault rifle, so that’s seven ARs based on the BO6 launch roster. Once you’ve done that, you need to repeat the process across every weapon in the game, totaling up to 33 guns.

The difference between Tier 3 and 4 is what the challenge entails, but right now, it’s unclear what these challenges are. The CoD team has yet to confirm what these mastery camo challenges will involve for each game, but expect them to be slogs that will take some serious hours to complete.

• Multiplayer Mastery Camo Tier 1: Gold – Unlock all military and special camos for the multiplayer weapon, then complete the applicable camo challenge.

• Multiplayer Mastery Camo Tier 2: Diamond – Unlock Master Camo Tier 1 on every gun featured in the multiplayer weapon class you’re targeting, then complete the applicable camo challenge.

• Multiplayer Mastery Camo Tier 3: Dark Spine – Unlock Master Camo Tier 2 on every gun in every multiplayer weapon class, then complete the applicable camo challenge.

• Multiplayer Mastery Camo Tier 4: Dark Matter – Unlock Master Camo Tier 2 on every gun in every multiplayer weapon class, then complete the applicable camo challenge.

• Warzone Mastery Camo Tier 1: Gold Tiger – Unlock all military and special camos for the Warzone weapon, then complete the applicable camo challenge.

• Warzone Mastery Camo Tier 2: King’s Ransom (Animated) – Unlock Master Camo Tier 1 on every gun featured in the Warzone weapon class you’re targeting, then complete the applicable camo challenge.

• Warzone Mastery Camo Tier 3: Catalyst (Animated) – Unlock Master Camo Tier 2 on every gun in every Warzone weapon class, then complete the applicable camo challenge.

• Warzone Mastery Camo Tier 4: Catalyst (Animated and Dynamic)– Unlock Master Camo Tier 2 on every gun in every Warzone weapon class, then complete the applicable camo challenge.
