The AMR9 is a dangerous SMG with many attachment options. With the right combination, this weapon slaps and is a fantastic addition to the MW3 roster. Here is the best AMR9 Build in MW3: Attachments, loadout, and perks.

Best AMR9 Attachments

The AMR9 is a powerful weapon, but it does have a savage kick we need to manage. As an SMG, the AMR9 burns through ammo at an alarming rate, but we can fix these issues with our Attachments.

  • Barrel: Tectonic Micro Integral Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
  • Optic: MK. 3 Reflector
  • Magazine: 50 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip

Tectonic Micro Integral Suppressor

The barrel on the AMR9 is bizarre as it overrides the muzzle slot with the Tectonic Micro Integral Suppressor. This attachment keeps us off the radar and increases ADS and Sprint to Fire speed.

We take a significant penalty to Bullet Velocity and Damage Range, forcing us into a close-range play style. Our perk choices later reflect this change.

DR-6 Handstop

The DR-6 Handstop is an Armory Unlock, but it is worth the points. The Handstop grants buffs to ADS, Aim Walking, and Movement Speed. We want to be mobile with the AMR9, and this underbarrel attachment really helps.

Our Hipfire accuracy takes a hit with the DR-6, but we have a decent Optic, and our ADS Speed is fast with this build. If you prefer to Hipfire, you can swap this attachment for the laser of your choice.

MK. 3 Reflector

The MK. 3 Reflector is a brilliant Optic, offering a wide-view picture and a simple dot reticule that’s easy to see. This Optic is among the best new additions in MW3 and is perfect for short-range engagements.

I find the default sights on the AMR9 a little tricky to use with how much the weapon kicks, so I recommend the Optic even for close-range fights.

50 Round Mag

The AMR9 chews through ammo, and I feel much more comfortable engaging teams with the 50-round Mag. We suffer the usual penalties, like a hit to ADS speed, but we can still raise the gun quickly. 

There’s a 100-round option, but it feels unnecessary, even if you miss a lot of your shots.

Sakin ZX Grip

I’ve gone with the Sakin ZX Grip for the extra Firing Aim Stability and Recoil Control to round off our attachments. There’s a case to be made for the Phantom Grip as it boosts ADS speed, but in my testing, the difference is negligible. 

Best secondary, tactical, lethal, and field equipment for the AMR9

  • Secondary: COR-45
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade X2
  • Field Upgrade: Comm Scrambler

These choices are personal preferences, although we run double Stuns because I swear by the Engineer Vest. The COR-45 is a solid secondary weapon, although our AMR9’s 50 50-round mag means we rarely have to switch. 

The Comm Scramber is an excellent field upgrade but may be less valuable if you’re constantly flanking. I tend to rock the Scrambler as it’s incredible on small maps, but you may also get some mileage out of the Munitions Box.

Best gloves, boots, gear, and vests for the AMR9 build

  • Gloves: Quick-Grip Gloves
  • Boots: Covert Sneakers
  • Gear: Bone Conduction Headset
  • Gear: Ghost T/V Camo
  • Vest: Engineer Vest

I often recommend this perk setup, but it excels with a mobile SMG play style. The Quick-Grip Gloves are handy if we ever need to swap weapons, even though we rarely need to. 

The Covert Sneakers allow us to sneak up on opponents, while the Bone Conduction Headset gives valuable audio intel. If you’re behind enemy lines, the Ghost T/V Camo is arguably the best gear in MW3, considering the prevalence of UAVs.

Finally, the Engineer Vest highlights enemy equipment, and this is a fantastic feature for a mobile build.
