February 22, 2025: It’s official. A new best Fisch rod has been decided.
What is the best Fisch rod? It’s a complicated question. You can’t just jump from the beginner rod to the arguably best reeler around, so you’ll often have to make do with the best rod for your current level of progress and skill. However, some of the 55 currently available rods are obviously only for collectors. So there’s reason to pick out a few choice sticks.
We’ll break down the best Fisch rods into tiers – efficient progression paths to the best rods in Fisch. It’s important to check back here as you play the game. New rods are added to various tiers with each update like Mariana’s Veil, so the best rod one week may get replaced by a different one in the next. We won’t include rods from Fisch codes here as they’re likely only available for a limited time.
What is the best Fisch rod overall?
The best Fisch rod is the Ethereal Prism Rod from the Mariana’s Veil update. Its high chance to apply an 8x value multiplier pairs well with high base stats and Exalted Enchants. It can quickly pay for itself and doesn’t have the lofty crafting requirements of the Rod of the Eternal King.
With each update bringing many new rods, the best rod in Fisch changes often. Reaching what is arguably the best rod efficiently requires finding and using the ‘best rod’ for your progression point to slowly climb to the next tier.
Each Fisch rod tier takes a rod’s cost, stats, passive abilities, and pre-requisite requirements into account. For example, while the Trident Rod was once an easy recommendation, the Auric Rod and Champions Rod now offer similar benefits without the lengthy grind.
On top of listing every currently obtainable Fisch rod, we’ll single one or two out as the best Fisch rods within each tier and talk you through why they’re worth choosing.
All Fisch rods
Here are all 55 Fisch rods broken down into tiers, including their location, price, lure speed, luck, control and resilience, max weight, and passives.
Starter Fisch rods
Rod | Location | Price | Lure Speed | Luck | Control and Resilience | Max Weight (Kg) | Passive |
Flimsy Rod | Default | Free | 0 | 0% | 0/0 | 10.4 | N/A |
Fischer’s Rod | Store | 0 | 5 | 5% | 0.05/0 | 50 | N/A |
Training Rod | Moosewood | 300 | 10 | -70% | 0.2/20 | 9 | N/A |
Plastic Rod | Moosewood | 900 | 10 | 15% | 0/10 | 100 | N/A |
Carbon Rod | Moosewood | 2,000 | -10 | 25% | 0.05/10 | 600 | N/A |
Fast Rod | Moosewood | 4,5000 | 45 | -15% | 0.05/-12 | 175 | N/A |
Lucky Rod | Moosewood | 5,250 | -30 | 60% | 0.05/-12 | 175 | N/A |
Long Rod | Moosewood | 4,500 | 20 | 30% | -0.1/0 | 250 | N/A |
Stone Rod | Ancient Isle | 3,000 | -25 | 10% | 0/5 | 900 | N/A |
What is the best starting Fisch rod?
The best starting Fisch rod is the Carbon Rod due to its balanced stats, high weight allowance, and comparatively low cost.
At this tier, and unless there’s a Fisch code rod reward available, the Carbon Rod always makes the most sense. Upgrading from your Flimsy Rod is as simple as earning 2,000C$ and buying it from the Moosewood Merchant.
You may be tempted by the Lucky Rod, but its lure speed, low resilience, and lighter max weight potential will make grinding for your next rod a real chore. Resist the urge.
Tier 2 Fisch rods
Rod | Location | Price | Lure Speed | Luck | Control and Resilience | Max Weight (Kg) | Passive |
Magma Rod | Quest (Roslit Bay) | Free | -70 | 15% | 0/0 | 1200 | Can fish in lava. |
Fungal Rod | Quest (Mushgrove Swamp | Free | -10 | 45% | 0/0 | 200 | 70% to gain a 20% luck buff for 45s after a catch. |
Steady Rod | Roslit Bay | 7,000 | -60 | 35% | 0.05/30 | 100,000 | Bigger Shake button. |
Fortune Rod | Roslit Bay | 12,750 | -35 | 110% | 0/-15 | 700 | N/A |
Rapid Rod | Roslit Bay | 14,000 | 72 | -20% | 0/-20 | 700 | N/A |
Magnet Rod | Terrapin Island | 15,000 | -10 | 0% | 0.05/0 | 10,000 | Higher chance to catch Crates. |
Nocturnal Rod | Vertigo | 11,000 | -10 | 70% | 0/0 | 2,000 | Catches day/night-preferring fish regardless of the time. |
What is the best tier 2 Fisch rod?
The best tier 2 Fisch rod is the Steady Rod. While its lure speed can be agonizingly slow and its luck stat is nothing special, its near-infinite weight limit, high resilience, and larger shake button make it great for fishing up high-value fish in open waters.
Get some bait and an enchant to offset the lure speed and you won’t regret your decision in the slightest.
What is the best Steady Rod enchant?
If you want to ride the Steady Rod into tier 4, enchant it with Hasty to offset its incredibly slow lure speed stat. And get yourself some bait.
Tier 3 Fisch rods
Rod | Location | Price | Lure Speed | Luck | Control and Resilience | Max Weight (Kg) | Passive |
Reinforced Rod | Desolate Deep | 20,000 | 0 | 25% | 0.05/0 | Infinite | Can fish in the Brine Pool and Volcano. |
Arctic Rod | Northern Summit (Northern Expedition) | 25,000 | 45 | 65% | 0.18/15 | 80,000 | N/A |
Avalanche Rod | Overgrowth Caves (Northern Expedition) | 35,000 | 40 | 68% | 0.15/10 | 65,000 | N/A |
Phoenix Rod | Ancient Isle | 40,000 | 55 | 35% | 0.05/-10 | 4,000 | 40% for 1.3x value mutation. |
Scurvy Rod | Forsaken Shores | 50,000 | 15 | 50% | 0/15 | 2,000 | N/A |
Midas Rod | Travelling Merchant | 55,000 | 60 | 10% | 0/-20 | 4,000 | 60% chance for 2x value mutation. |
Crystalized Rod | Northern Expedition | 35,000 | 35 | 45% | 0.15/15 | 25,000 | 12% chance for 1.75% mutation. |
What is the best tier 3 Fisch rod?
The best tier 3 Fisch rods are the Arctic Rod, Avalanche Rod, and Crystalized Rod.
Considered an optional tier in the view of Fisch veterans, the Arctic and Avalanche Rods are among the best Fisch rods at the tier 3 stage for solo players.
If you can get someone to help with the required puzzle, the Crystallized Rod is a potentially better option.
The biggest difference between the three is their weight allowance. While the Crystalized Rod may have the lower value, its relatively high mutation chance passive can make it the better long-term investment.
You can skip to this tier from tier 1 if you choose, or skip this if you’re at tier 2.
Tier 4 Fisch rods
Rod | Location | Price | Lure Speed | Luck | Control and Resilience | Max Weight (Kg) | Passive |
Brick Rod | Minish questline | 13,337 | 0 | 75% | 0.35/35 | Infinite | 100% chance of 1.1x value mutation |
Aurora Rod | Vertigo (during Aurora Borealis) | 90,000 | 10 | 60% | 0.06/6 | 6,000 | 15% chance of 6.5% value mutation. Increases to 30% during Aurora Borealis. |
Mythical Rod | Travelling Merchant | 110,000 | 0 | 45% | 0.05/0 | 2,000 | 30% chance of 4.5x value mutation. |
Kings Rod | Keepers Altar | 120,000 | -45 | 55% | 0.15/35 | Infinite | Catches 15% bigger fish. |
Ice Warpers Rod | Northern Expedition | 65,000 | 50 | 60% | 0.15/20 | 75,000 | N/A |
Depthseeker Rod | Atlantis (merchant) | 40,000 | 55 | 70% | 0.17/25 | 50,000 | N/A |
Champions Rod | Atlantis (spawn) | 80,000 | 45 | 65% | 0.25/30 | 200,000 | N/A |
What is the best tier 4 Fisch rod?
The best tier 4 Fisch rod is the Mythical Rod. With a 30% chance to increase the value of your catch by a whopping 4.5x (and also making it easier to get certain late-game crafting material), it’s a no-brainer. The only issue is its relatively low luck boost and low weight limit.
Sometimes found for sale from the Travelling Merchant, its 110,000C$ asking price is higher than most in this tier, but its potential gains are undeniable and unbeaten.
What is the best Mythical Rod enchant?
Enchant the Mythical Rod with Hasty and pair it with Rapid Catchers to reel in money fast.
Tier 5 Fisch rods
Rod | Location | Price | Lure Speed | Luck | Control and Resilience | Max Weight (Kg) | Passive |
Trident Rod | Desolate Deep | 150,000 | 20% | 150% | 0/0 | 6,000 | Occasionally stuns a fish and increases its progress bar. 30% chance to apply 3x value mutation. |
Summit Rod | Northern Expedition (Frigid Cavern) | 300,000 | 15% | 75% | 0.25/15 | 200,000 | N/A |
Precision Rod | Crafted | 7,500 (plus materials) | 20% | 150% | 0/5 | 12,000 | N/A |
Wisdom Rod | Crafted | 50,000 (plus materials) | 10% | 35% | 0.05/0 | 2,000 | Applies a 70-100% XP buff to every fifth catch in a row. |
Resourceful Rod | Crafted | 15,000 (plus materials) | 15% | 20% | 0.01/0 | 1,000 | Doubles the effects of bait. |
Volcanic Rod | Volcanic Vents (Mariana’s Veil) | 300,000 | 30% | 90% | 0.1/15 | Infinite | 20% chance to apply 5x value mutation. |
What is the best tier list Fisch rod?
The best tier 5 Fisch rod is the Trident Rod, with the Volcanic Rod being a very close second.
If you’re not feeling particularly brave or adventurous, consider skipping this tier. While its best rod, the Trident Rod, has been a popular pick since the early days, completing the necessary bestiary can be a chore.
Still, its modest 150,000C$ asking price would be hard to obtain without the Mythical Rod’s passive.
In being a direct upgrade with far better luck (a whopping 150%) and 3x its weight limit, its fast lure speed and ‘stab’ effect that speeds up and simplifies reeling easily outweighs its 3x value multiplier.
The Volcanic Rod, introduced in the Mariana’s Veil update, can generate money more quickly and catch a greater variety of fish thanks to its infinite weight limit and 5x multiplier passive.
It can also be had without completing a complex bestiary, but does cost double that of the Trident Rod while having less Luck.
What is the best Trident Rod enchant?
Enchanting the Trident Rod with Hasty will dramatically increase the amount of money you can earn. Pair it with Rapid Catchers to hook fish almost instantly.
Tier 6 Fisch rods
Rod | Location | Price | Lure Speed | Luck | Control and Resilience | Max Weight | Passive |
Rod of the Depths | The Depths | 750,000 (plus materials and mutations) | 65 | 130% | 0.15/10 | 30,000 | Awards a bonus fish from the current spot after every third catch. |
Rod of the Exalted One | Keepers Secret | Free | 55 | 170% | 0.15/20 | 70,000 | Boosts Exalted Relic chance by 2.5x. |
Destiny Rod | The Arch | 190,000 | -10 | 250% | 0/0 | 10,000 | 5% increased Shiny/Sparkling chance. |
Sunken Rod | Treasure Chests | Free | 30 | 150% | 0.15/15 | 5,000 | 25% chance to get a treasure map on every 10th catch. 5% to apply 4x value mutation. |
Auric Rod | Sunken Chests | Free | 20 | 25% | 0.05/20 | 2,500 | Every catch is worth 2-5x its normal value. |
Seasons Rod | Crafted | 35,000 | 20 | 35% | 0.03/10 | 4,000 | 20% more luck against a fish that prefers the current season. 20% chance to apply a 1.3x value mutation. |
Riptide Rod | Crafted | 40,000 | 20 | 25% | 0.05/5 | 3,500 | Applies 30% luck and 25% Lure Speed to the next three casts after every 5th perfect cast. |
Abyssal Specter Rod | Ethereal Abyss (Atlantis) | 1,000,000 | 60 | 90% | 0.3/70 | Infinite | N/A |
What is the best tier 6 Fisch rod?
The best Fisch rod in tier 6 is the Rod of the Depths or the Auric Rod.
If you do happen to skip a tier to get to this stage, the Rod of the Depths is still the way to go. It’s pricy, but given you’ll be fishing in a lucrative spot to unlock its chamber, you’ll get there in no time.
So what does it offer? Though you’ll lose mutation benefits in this tier, you’ll gain far faster lure speeds, access to heavier fish, and have an easier time landing them with a wide catch bar. And the best bit? With every third catch, a little ghost of yourself will catch another fish from the same pool.
That’s instant snagging with some easy bait and the potential to land a second high-value fish every third catch. Trust us: losing a mutation passive will soon seem trivial.
But there’s a catch. If you get incredibly lucky, you could skip to this tier from absolutely nothing via the Sunken Chests server event. Find the Auric Rod inside, which multiplies the value of every catch by 2-5x, and you can likely ride its low weight limit for a long time.
You’ll eventually want to grab the Rod of the Exalted Depths, too. Not for its fishing potential, but for the three Exalted Relics it comes with. These can get endgame rods some super powerful enchantments.
What is the best Rod of the Depths enchant?
Unless you’re looking to break the bank with Megalodons alone, in which case you’ll want the Herculean enchant, the best Rod of the Depths enchant is Hasty.
What is the best Auric Rod enchant?
The Divine enchant can give you a much easier time making money with the Auric Rod. Herculean will also allow for the potential of catching heavier and more expensive fish.
Tier 7 Fisch rods
Rod | Location | Price | Lure Speed | Luck | Control and Resilience | Max Weight | Passive |
Zeus Rod | Zeus’ Trial (Atlantis) | 1,700,000 | 70 | 70% | 0.15/20 | Infinite | 10% chance to double the benefits of the Shake button. 95% for 3.5x value mutation. 5% for 0.5x value mutation. |
Tempest Rod | Sunken Trial (Atlantis) | 1,850,000 | 90 | 120% | 0.15/40 | 80,000 | 15% boost to reeling progress speed. |
Poseidon Rod | Poseidon’s Trial | 1,750,000 | 50 | 165% | 0.2/40 | 100,000 | 25% to gain 75% of the value of the caught fish instantly. 10% to increase the weight of the caught fish by 75-150% and apply a 1.5x value mutation. |
Heaven’s Rod | Northern Summit | 1,750,000 | 30 | 225 | 0.2/30 | Infinite | 15% to apply 5x value mutation. |
Kraken Rod | Kraken Pool (Atlantis) | 1,333,333 | 60 | 185% | 0.2/15 | 115,000 | 10% to catch an identical fish. 5% chance to apply 10x value mutation. Guarantees a fish of Legendary or above rarity every 50th catch. |
Voyager Rod | Crafted | 30,000 (+ materials) | 25 | 85% | 0/10 | Infinite | 25% to apply 2.5x value mutation. Increases progression speed. |
The Lost Rod | Crafted | 50,000 (+ materials) | 15 | 25% | 0.08/8 | 55,000 | 150% extra luck for three casts after every six perfect catches. |
No-Life Rod | Level reward (500) | Free | 90 | 105% | 0.23/10 | Infinite | 20% chacne to add 1.5x value mutation. Boosts progress and stuns. |
Challenger’s Rod | Challenger’s Deep (Mariana’s Veil) | 2,500,000 | 80 | 110% | 0.2/30 | Infinite | 20% faster reeling progression. |
Leviathan’s Fang Rod | Veil of the Forsaken (Mariana’s Veil) | 1,000,000 | 70 | 180% | 0.1/5 | Infinite | Provides +50 Resilience and +20$ progression speed when reeling in Scylla. |
What is the best tier 7 Fisch rod?
The best Fisch rod at tier 7 is the Heaven’s Rod or Kraken Rod. The jury is still out on this one. Both have their (major) pros and few cons, striking a sharp balance between each other.
You can grab the Heaven’s Rod solo, but it costs around 2,000,000C$ in total when factoring in the things you need to buy to find it. Its 15% 5x value modifier, chart-topping luck stat, infinite weight limit, and great resilience make reeling in everything but the Lovestruck Eel a breeze.
But when you can get a rod that can double your catch, multiply its value by 10x, and guarantee a rare catch with every 50th reel for almost half the cost, it’s tough to make a decision.
What is the best Heaven’s Rod enchant?
The Heaven’s Rod pairs best with the Hasty enchant.
What is the best enchant for the Kraken Rod?
Hasty remains the best enchant for the Kraken Rod.
Tier 8 Fisch rods
Rod | Location | Price | Lure Speed | Luck | Control and Resilience | Max Weight | Passive |
Celestial Rod | Crafted | 100,000 (plus materials) | 35 | 60% | 0.07/5 | Infinite | Gain +50% luck, 30 Lure Speed, and +30% XP for five minutes after every 85th catch. Applies a 2x value mutation to every fish caught within this period. |
Rod of the Eternal King | Crafted | 250,000 (plus materials) | 50 | 160% | 0.175/15 | 75,000 | 10% chance to gain 150% luck every 30 seconds. 15% chance to catch a higher rarity fish after breaking the line. 20% chance to apply a 4x value mutation. |
Rod of the Forgotten Fang | Crafted | 300,000 (plus materials) | 78 | 145% | 0.22/25 | Infinite | Awards a free fish with a 15-20% increased size after every third catch. |
Seraphic Rod | Level reward (1000) | Free | 95 | 150% | 0.25/20 | Infinite | Every catch starts at 60% progress. |
Rod of the Zenith | Abyssal Zenith (Mariana’s Veil) | 10,000,000 | 85 | 145% | 0.15/15 | Infinite | Increases value mutation chance the longer a fish is kept within the catch bar. |
Ethereal Prism Rod | Calm Zone (Mariana’s Veil) | 15,000,000 | 95 | 195% | 0.25/40 | Infinite | 50% chance to apply a 8x value mutation. |
What’s the best tier 8 Fisch rod?
The Ethereal Prism Rod is now the best rod to get in Fisch, beating out the Rod of the Eternal King in pure income expectations.
Setting you back 15,000,000C$, it’s the most expensive Fisch rod for a reason. Its 50% chance to apply an 8x value mutation pairs exceptionally well with high base stats like near-instant lure speeds, high luck, and sturdy resistance to help it quickly pay for itself with high-tier fish.
What’s the best enchant for the Ethereal Prism Rod?
The best regular enchant for the Ethereal Prism rod is likely Sturdy. This pairs well with its high luck and weight stats to make reeling in big, expensive fish a breeze.
But you’ll want to replace it with an Exalted Enchant like Sea Overlord as soon as possible. This will dramatically increase income gain.
Note that any enchant that applies its own mutation like Abyssal or Anomalous will negatively affect income by potentially overwriting the rod’s 8x mutation with a lesser one.
Got all that? Great. Remember to check back for the latest and greatest Fisch rods as new updates add more. It’s rare for existing rods to become easier to get, but their passives and stats can change over time, with other rods sometimes taking their place in the Fisch rod tier list if they happen to be easier to grab.
