Season 5 Reloaded comes in hot with several new weapons for the community to unlock and play around with. The Lachmann Shroud SMG is one of those. This weapon is unique as it comes with an integrated suppressor. A built-in silencer means you don’t need to waste an attachment slot on keeping your gun quiet and opens up our build options. The big question is, what works best? Let me show you the best Lachmann Shroud loadout for Warzone 2 DMZ. If you haven’t unlocked the weapon yet, check out our guide on how to get it.
Best Lachmann Shroud loadout for Warzone 2 DMZ
The Lachmann Shroud is unique among the other SMGs. The built-in Suppressor is awesome, but strangely enough, the weapon isn’t fully automatic. If you’re rocking the Shroud, you’ll have to master firing in bursts. This quirk makes the weapon much harder to use, but if you’ve got good aim and a solid trigger finger, you can still make it work.
Lachmann Shroud Attachments
- Barrel: 114mm Darkstar
- Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
- Magazine: 50 Round Drum
- Optic: SZ HoloTherm
- Stock: FT Mobile Stock
The Darkstar Barrel grants a decent boost to our ADS Speed. Even though we’re usually up close and personal with the Lachmann Shroud, we still need ADS to land those bursts.
On paper, the VLK LZR 7MW is the best laser on most guns, but your opponents will be able to see it. If this is an issue, alternatives like the STOVL Tac Laser are fine but don’t help with ADS Speed.
The Magazine is a tricky one. Big magazines can make all the difference, especially with burst fire. The 40-Round Magazine is less sluggish, with faster reload and speeds. I prefer 50 Rounds, but 40 is a viable alternative.
The Optic is a personal preference. I’ve been loving the SZ Holotherm, as targets show up very clearly through it, but the optic hue takes some getting used to. The default sights on the Lachmann Shroud are decent, so you could swap this attachment for 9MM Sub HP Ammo instead.
Finally, the FT Mobile Stock grants a decent buff to ADS Speed, which really helps in close-range gunfights.
Is the Lachmann Shroud any good?
The Lachmann Shroud has one fatal flaw: its fire mode. Burst Fire is far harder to use than Full Auto. Remember, SMGs are at their most dangerous up close. If you’re fighting at point-blank range against an opponent who only has to hold the trigger down, my money is on them to win the battle.
If you’re a cracked player who can track enemies while accurately tapping the trigger, you can do work with the Lachmann Shroud. My only argument is that you can probably slay with any weapon if you can do that.
That said, the Lachmann Shroud does decent damage at close-mid range and is easy to control. The weapon shines indoors when your opponent isn’t right in your face. Still, the fire mode won’t work for everyone. There’s a reason you don’t get killed by the M16 Assault Rifle very often. Most players won’t pick a burst gun when so many excellent full-auto weapons exist. If bullet hoses are more your style, you can’t go wrong with a pair of FTAC Siege Machine Pistols.
