The MX Guardian is an absolute menace in close quarters and a deadly addition to Season 4 Reloaded. Shotguns are scary at the best of times, but if the weapon is fully automatic as well, it’s downright terrifying! The MX Guardian is full auto but is also a hit marker machine without any attachments. With the right build, we can improve the weapon’s consistency and enable a ‘spray and pray’ playstyle usually reserved for SMGs. If you want to unleash havoc with an auto shotgun, let me show you the best MX Guardian Build for MW2 and Warzone 2.
I highly recommend building the MX Guardian, even if you’re not usually a shotgun fan. Seriously, it’s that powerful! If you’ve yet to acquire the MX Guardian, check out our guide on how to do so.
Best MX Guardian Build for MW2 and Warzone 2
The MX Guardian is so strong it can be built with a myriad of different attachments. The build below is the one I’m having the most success with. I’ll explain my reasoning and a few flex slots afterward.
MX Guardian Attachments
- Barrel: HYP-LM
- Muzzle: SA MX-50
- Underbarrel: Bruen Warrior Grip
- Magazine: MX Pro Mag
- Laser: Hipshot L20
The HYP-LM Barrel gives us everything we could possibly want for the MX Guardian. Damage Range and Hipfire Accuracy are essential for this build, and we get Bullet Velocity and Recoil Control as welcome bonuses.Â
The SA MX-50 is ‘best in slot’ for the Muzzle, giving us additional Damage Range. The Sound Suppression is nice, as is the Bullet Velocity. If you’re very accurate, you may get more mileage with the Bryson Improved Choke, which gives a Tighter Pellet Spread. I don’t feel this is big enough to lose the Suppression and Velocity, but it’s a decent option.
I swear by the Bruen Warrior Grip for many builds, as it dramatically increases our Hipfire potential. This grip only negatively impacts stats we don’t care about, as we won’t be using the sights much. The VX Pineapple and OP-X9 Foregrip both offer similar buffs if you want to experiment.
Sadly, there are no extended magazines for the MX Guardian. The alternative is well worth the slot as the MX Pro Mag gives buffs to ADS Speed and, most importantly, Sprint to Fire Speed. Being able to draw your weapon from a sprint instantly will win you countless gunfights.
Finally, we have the laser. This is an easy flex spot if you want to tinker with the build. The Hipshot L20 offers Hip Recoil Control and Hip Fire Accuracy at the cost of a visible laser beam. The Stovl Tac Laser is a good alternative if the visibility bothers you. If you’re not a fan of lasers, you can slap on the Stream-SK Rear Grip for even better Sprint to Fire Speed.
Are the other Ammo types any good?
I’ve tried the other ammunition types, but I still think the default is the most consistent. If I had to use alternative ammo, the Slugs are fantastic and delete players at ridiculous ranges. If you’re not a fan of lasers and have a spare attachment slot, try the Slugs, and see how you fare.
