SideQuest is a VR app store that features a great selection of independently developed VR games and experiences. There are even some open-sourced ones that are free to download. The selection of games on SideQuest is impressive and includes a variety of genres such as shooters, puzzle games, and even a rhythm game.

While the majority of games on SideQuest are developed for the Oculus Quest, there are also a few that work with other headsets such as the HTC Vive and Valve Index. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at some of the best SideQuest VR games that you can play right now, ranked from good to best:

Best SideQuest VR games

10. Five Nights at Freddy’s Sister Location

The Five Nights at Freddy’s games are known for their ability to send players into a panic, and the Sister Location is no different. You’ll need to use all your wits to survive this one. Just like other games in the series, you’ll be checking cameras and trying to stay alive for as long as possible. Among the other games in the list, the SideQuest VR version isn’t the best experience, though, with reports of glitches and framerate issues.

9. Crisis VRigade

This cheekily named VR game puts you in the shoes of a SWAT team member, tasked with saving hostages and taking down terrorists. It’s an intense and thrilling experience that will have your heart pounding as you duck and weave through gunfire. The graphics are good, but it does lack replayability — once you’ve completed the missions, there’s not much reason to go back.

8. Carrier Aircraft

Carrier Aircraft is one of the best flying SideQuest VR games you can play. An aerial combat game, Carrier Aircraft tasks you with piloting a fighter jet through a series of enemy-filled levels. The game features a variety of different weapons and power-ups that you can use to take down your enemies. It also includes a multiplayer mode so you can battle it out with friends. One downside is that you may need to spend money on in-app purchases to unlock all of the game’s content.

7. Granny VR

Another scary game is Granny VR, where players are again locked in a house, but this time with a murderous grandma chasing them. With only a flashlight as a light source, you’ll have to search for items to unlock different parts of the house. There are times when the audio has issues, so you’ll have to rely on limited visual cues. Be careful, though; you’re not the only one looking for things in the dark.

6. Hand Physics Lab

This is one of the best SideQuest VR games in terms of variety. In Hand Physics Lab, players can solve a variety of tasks and puzzles with just their hands. There are 80 different experiences to choose from, each with its own unique gameplay. Players can expect to use their hands for things like building towers, playing the piano, and even catching fish. A major complaint from players is that it highlights how VR gears still need to improve hand-tracking accuracy and object placement.

5. QuestCraft

If you’ve been an avid fan of Minecraftand want to try it in VR, QuestCraft is the game for you. It is a VR-only sandbox game that allows players to build, explore, and do whatever they want in their own little world. It’s the standalone port of Minecraft: Java Edition, so it still requires an account to play. The game still has the same mechanics as the original, but with the added immersion of VR.

4. Attack on Quest

Inspired by the hit anime, Attack on Titan, this VR game puts you in the shoes of a nameless Survey Corps soldier who must battle their way through an onslaught of Titans. Using their VR gear, players will be able to zip around the battlefield and take down Titans with ease. Although the game does require some practice to master, it’s one of the most exhilarating VR experiences out there.

3. Gorilla Tag

Third on our list is Gorilla Tag, which really has a simple premise: you play as a gorilla trying to tag other gorillas. The graphics are charming and cartoony, making for a really immersive VR experience. It’s a fun, interactive game that you and your friends will want to get back to. All you need are your hands to play and the movements are easy to learn, so it’s great for all ages.

2. Pavlov: Shack

Pavlov: Shack is the second-best SideQuest VR game in our opinion since it’s a well-made multiplayer shooter that lets you play with friends online. It features intense gunfights and plenty of maps to keep you coming back for more. It features realistic weapon mechanics, which lend themselves well to the VR format. It also has competitive and social game modes, so you can play how you want.

1. Enhance VR

What’s great about Enhance VR is that it’s a game that boosts your cognitive skills as you play. It can improve memory, attention, flexibility, and problem-solving, as well as physical intelligence like motor control and spatial orientation. It’s a great workout for your mind, and it’s a lot of fun too, which is why it’s the best SideQuest VR game.
