Call of Duty seasons continue to blow my mind with how much content they pump into the latest premium title and the free-to-play Warzone. Black Ops 6 Season 2 is no different. A massive lineup of new maps, weapons, and more is descending upon multiplayer, Black Ops 6 Zombies is getting its fourth round-based experience, and a new event featuring The Terminator is on the way too.

Black Ops 6 Season 2 is right around the corner, and that means it’s time for another roadmap that’s bursting at the seams with new stuff. It’s not like the FPS game is short of content, but that’s not going to stop Activision from unleashing another barrage.

We already knew that a fourth map would be hitting Black Ops 6 Zombies in Season 2 – which still amazes and deeply pleases me, given how lucklustre Zombies has been in recent years – but now we know loads more details about The Tomb. In this new map, the team’s hunt for the Sentinel Artifact takes them to “a cursed dig site and the ancient catacombs within.” The Tomb sees the return of the Staff of Ice, which was one of the elemental Wonder Weapons from the iconic Black Ops 2 Zombies map, Origins. The Staff of Ice can freeze enemies, produce powerful area-of-effect attacks, and it can revive downed teammates. It seems odd that just the icy variant of the staff is present here, so maybe we’ll see the Staffs of Fire, Wind, and Lightning in future Zombies maps.

Over in multiplayer land, the map pool is going to expand once again. Five new maps are on the way – Dealership, Bounty, and Lifeline will be here for the start of the season, while Bullet and Grind will arrive in the mid-season Reloaded update. The Black Ops 2 nostalgia continues here, because Lifeline is a more compact reimagining of the iconic luxury yacht map Hijacked, and Grind is a remake of the popular skatepark-themed map.

Speaking of CoD classics, Gun Game is also being added as a fresh game mode in Black Ops 6. With a lineup of 20 randomized guns to cycle through in this free-for-all-style mode, it’s a true test of your skills across the whole Black Ops 6 arsenal.

Some new weapons will also be unlockable through the battle pass, including the beloved PPSh-41submachine gun. The explosive War Machine scorestreak (one of my personal all-time favorites across all CoD games) is also being added to Black Ops 6. So too are the new Slipstream perk, which gives you quicker sprint speed but removes the option to Tactical Sprint, and the Flyswatter wildcard, which lets you put a rocket launcher in your melee weapon slot.

A trio of in-game events are also planned for Season 2, including one themed around The Terminator – and yes, that means a new Terminator operator is coming too as part of a store bundle.
