by theygamesA new Diablo Immortal roadmap reveals nearly everything we can expect through the end of 2025, and there’s a lot to look forward to if you’re playing the free PC game. This year brings the ‘Epoch of Madness’ and, while the arrival of a new class is likely to be the big draw for many, there are plenty of additions on the way. A new crafting system is arriving soon, and it will be followed by everything from more zones and Helliquary bosses to a crossover event as Immortal nears its third anniversary.
While it might be easy to overlook Diablo Immortal in the wake of Diablo 4 and other big challengers such as Path of Exile 2, its free-to-play nature and cross-progression between computer and mobile devices makes it a way to get your action RPG fix on the go. We’ve already had the launch of the Season 35 / 36 battle passes and the Tong-Shi’s Renewal event this year, but the first major update, The Writhing Wilds, is scheduled to arrive in the free PC game by the end of March.
The Writhing Wilds will introduce a new quest, along with a fresh crafting system. There’s also an update for zone PvP and another battlegrounds map. That’s just the start of the roadmap, however. Next is the Prince of Freedom update, set to arrive between April and June, which will bring more quests and gear, a marketplace update, and additional Helliquary bosses. Blizzard also teases an as-yet-unspecified “crossover event” set to arrive before the game’s third anniversary, which lands on Monday June 2.
The updates for the second half of the year aren’t fully unveiled – as seen in the image below – but there is the tease of a new class landing between July and September. The icon shown resembles a deer head with swirls above its horns, which has me hoping for a Druid or a similar nature-weaving expert. There’s also another zone and more quests to look forward to, along with a summer event.
The corrupted roots spreading across the entire image might well play into how the narrative expands over the course of this year, and it’s likely also a nod towards the new class; Blizzard hints that the next arrival “is deeply rooted in the Epoch of Madness.” That certainly sounds Druid-adjacent to me.
Finally, The First and Last King will arrive at some point from October to December, and will feature yet another zone and further quests to take on. We’ll also be getting the usual Hallow’s Wake event as the year draws to a close. Even more of this period is obscured on the roadmap, however, so expect more details as the year rolls on.
