How do I get to Mariana’s Veil in Fisch?
The location of Mariana’s Veil in Fisch is Roslit Bay. A laser set up on the lighthouse uncovered the path through the lava that almost swallowed the island during the Ashfall event.
To reach Mariana’s Veil, head to Roslit Bay and talk to Mr. Glimmerfin at the Submarine Dock by the lighthouse. Complete his questline to build a submarine used to unlock the Mariana’s Veil.
Use the Drill he gives you to extract all five Submarine Parts from the rocks scattered around Roslit Bay. With a 5% chance of gaining a part, this can take some time. You can’t get duplicate parts.
Once you have them all, hold each piece from your inventory up against the submarine shell to the left of Dr. Glimmerfin. Use the interact button to stick each one in.
Once all five pieces have been added, speak to Dr. Glimmerfin to unlock the Submarine as a spawnable boat. Speak to him again to spawn it nearby, or at any other Shipwright.
Climb into the Submarine and use the buttons listed on the left to descend into Mariana’s Viel through the point the lighthouse beamed in the cutscene. Follow the tunnels, going up and down, to reach the first layer: the Volcanic Vents.
Once inside Mariana’s Veil, you’ll progress through five layers, with each requiring upgrades to your Submarine and diving suit to unlock.
How to clear the Volcanic Vents in Fisch
When you emerge in the Volcanic Vents, hop out of your submarine and speak to the innkeeper by the crafting table on the right side of the chamber to set your spawn. This will make dying in the Veil less of an issue.
Your first objective is to craft the suit and upgrade your submarine. To get the required materials, head straight up from the steps by the water and use the drill to get the Laval Rock from one of the rocks on your immediate left.
Next, follow the path up from the stairs and through the tunnels until you reach a large lava pool.
Fish here to get the Inferno Hide, Blisterback Benny, and Infernal Iguanafish.
To catch the Blisterback Blenny, use the Fish Head bait in clear weather up your chances. This Mythical fish has a very high progress speed debuff and prefers high luck rods.
For the Infernal Iguanafish, try using insect bait in windy weather if you’re struggling. It’s an uncommon fish, so try with a rod with less Luck, too.
For the Inferno Hide, use a low-tier rod or Garbage bait on your preferred one.
Take all four items and place them on the podium by the innkeeper to unlock the first Submarine upgrade and the Glimmerfin Suit.
Equip the suit from your inventory to negate the effects of rising temperatures.
How to clear the Challenger’s Deep
With your submarine upgraded, it’s time to head to Challenger’s Deep. Spawn the sub and head back down into the water, following the tunnels down, up, and then largely down again.
After a minute or two, you should come across a frigid cavern. The ice spikes tell you you’re approaching Challenger’s Deep. If you have the Winter Cloak from the Northern Summit, swap into that to stave off the chills. Set your spawn and head in.
Follow the very long tunnel to the end to reach a large ice pool. You’ll spot the Challenger’s Rod on the wall to your right.
Fish in here to unlock the Challenger’s Deep bestiary and work your way through acquiring the next lot of submarine upgrade items: the Cryoskin and Polar Prowler.
To catch the legendary-grade Polar Prowler, try using Truffle Worm bait in clear weather. It prefers a winter night but we caught it on a clear autumn day with just an insect.
With those collected, take them to the podium by the entrance to upgrade your equipment. Head back into your submarine to dive deeper into the Veil.
How to clear the Abyssal Zenith
This is where things get tricky.
After a long stretch of tunnels leading the Abyssal Zenith chamber, not only will you need to fish up the Abyssal Bearded Seadevil and Voidglow Ghostfish, but you’ll need either an Orca or Kraken to subdue the Large Anglerfish long enough to grab the Anglers Lantern for the craft.
You may even need multiple to keep the other Anglerfish from eating you while you get the lantern from one.
Orca can be caught from hourly Orca migration events on the surface. They’re very rare.
Likewise, the Kraken is an especially rare catch in the final area of Atlantis. Neither fish is easy to get, making the Abyssal Zenith the first major gate of the Mariana’s Veil update.

What is the Fisch Mariana’s Veil update about?
From the event page that surfaced shortly after the big Atlantis update in early January, we have a relatively clear premise for the Mariana’s Veil expansion that reads:
“Atlantis was only the beginning. The world of Fisch descended into chaos when the truth about the Lost City was revealed. As secrets surfaced, reality began to warp, drawing the world into the enigmatic shadows of the unknown.”
Remember when Fisch used to be relaxing? We’re through the looking glass now, people.
Following the doomsayer-esque NPC dialogue that came with subsequent updates like the Ashfall event, evidence is piling up to suggest the Mariana’s Veil update will be much darker in tone than the others. Recent teases have included ominous messages, lost footage-style video, eerie music, and even a crime scene complete with an NPC-shaped chalk outline.
The trailer, released just a day before the update, shed light on the Mariana’s Veil zone. It is indeed a spot deep in the Fisch ocean. So deep that regular diving gear won’t be enough to access it.
Instead, we’ll need to ride a submersible down through the trench, eventually arriving at an open zone we can explore on foot.
There, we’ll excavate Lava Crystals while fending off high temperatures. Lava Crystals and other items like Inferno Hide and new fish like the Blisterback Blenny and Infernal Iguanafish can then be used to upgrade the Glimmerfin Suit and submarine to tolerate higher temperatures, likely unlocking deeper sections of the veil.
These deeper areas include large and violent angler lantern fish that eat you unless you prepare high-value fish like Orca or Kraken as food.
Toward the end of the trailer, we hear the roar of something bigger before a single frame displays what can only be described as a Hydra. This is the Scylla, the game’s first boss encounter.
What is Mariana’s Veil?
Though entirely unconfirmed, the current thinking is that Mariana’s Veil is a play on the real-life Mariana Trench with some light leanings on the Greek mythology aspect introduced with the Atlantis update and its diety denizens.
Evidence in favor of the parallels between the update and the Mariana Trench include the real-world location’s proximity to active volcanos (hence the Volcanic Eruption precursor event) and the update page’s main image depicting a player with diving gear finding a large and exotic jellyfish deep underwater.
In the real world, the Mariana Trench is the deepest trench on the planet, with its deepest known point being further from sea level than the peak of the tallest mountain.
This easily lends to the idea that it could be the deepest part of the Fisch world, being deeper than the Northern Summit biome is tall. It also gives us a way to speculate its location in the game.
One teaser image included an ominous message and was seemingly taken in the now-open hatch on Birch Cay. This could suggest the other hatches found around the world for months could soon open, too.
What are the new Fisch Mariana’s Veil rods?
The Mariana’s Veil update dropped with 5 rods, all of which can be purchased in the five levels of the new zone.
