February 16, 2025: We’ve added a few pointers regarding completing the Ashfall bestiary, including particular rods, bait, and weather conditions.

What’s new with the Fisch Volcano Eruption event? As the big lead-in to the Roblox game’s Mariana’s Veil expansion in the second half of February 2025, the promise of this long-standing geological structure’s imminent explosion is a tantalizing taste of what’s to come in one of the biggest Roblox game’s of the last year.

As with each weekly update big or small, there’s bound to be a whole host of new fish to catch, new rods to unlock, tricky puzzles to solve, and a bunch of cleverly hidden lore snippets to seek out. We’ll walk you through the entire Roblox Fisch Volcano Eruption new content drop below. Once you’re done, check out the best Roblox games before you jump back in with the next update.

How do I start the Fisch Volcano Eruption event quest?

Once the volcano has erupted on your server and the waters around Roslit Bay are replaced with lava, speak to Dr. Finneus on the boat by the skin seller to start the Volcano Eruption quest.

Dr. Finneus asks that you catch a fish from the lava. Return to him with a fish like the Scooty Salmon, Ember Catfish, or Pyro Pike to receive the Volcanic Helper title and the Volcano Research boat.

After that, complete the Ashfall bestiary to receive another prize. You’ll find it on the Limited Fish page of the bestiary. Use the tabs at the top to find it and use the list below to quickly complete it.

Fisch Volcano Eruption patch notes – What’s new with the Fisch Volcano update?

Here’s what we’ve found during the Fisch Volcano Eruption event:

Ashfall bestiary

Catch a fish from this limited-time bestiary to earn a new title and boat:

    • Blistered Eel – Worm, Windy
    • Pyro Pike – Shrimp, Rain
    • Ember Catfish – Bagel, Clear
    • Scooty Salmon – Seaweed, Windy
    • Cinder Carp – Minnow, Clear
    • Lava Lamprey – Insect, Rain
    • Molten Minnow – Flakes, Clear
    • Burnt Betta – Squid, Windy
    • Ashcloud Archerfish – Coal, Windy

What are the best rods to complete the Ashfall bestiary? Use rods with high luck (or bait) to easily catch rare specimens like Burnt Betta and Ashcloud Archerfish.

For common fish like Molten Minnow, the Flimsy Rod works really well.

For uncommon fish like the Lava Lamprey and Blistered Eel, exploit the Rapid Rod’s negative luck with Instant Catchers to speed up the process.

Doomsday mutation

This rare mutation multiplies the sale value of an affected fish by 4x.

The Doomsday mutation is exclusive to the Roslit lava fishing areas and may or may not become unobtainable once the Ashfall event concludes. Caught fish have a roughly 10% chance of being affected with the Doomsday mutation. It cannot be obtained through appraisal.

Coelacanths can be caught with this mutation anywhere in the world.

Mysterious Rock event

Every few minutes, a Mysterious Rock event is announced by the server. This drops a crater similar to the Ancient Isle meteor in the waters surrounding Roslit Bay.

All players on the server can interact with the item in the middle of the crater to claim an event-exclusive Volcano Bobber.

This part of the event appears to have only lasted for the first 30 minutes of the event.

New rod  skins

  • Bombastic Carbon – 299 Robux (for Carbon Rod)
  • Tundra Strike – 799 R0bux (for Artic Rod)
  • Forgotten Doomspire – 1299 Robux (for Rod of the Forgotten Fang)

The Ashfall rod skins are purchased via the in-game shop for Robux. They cannot be obtained from lootboxes for C$ and will become unobtainable after Feb. 22, 2025.

We’ll list the patch notes for the Fisch Volcano update here as soon as they drop.

Until then, we’ll lightly cover what we know about the update thus far. Details are scarce this time around, with only a brief new location teaser and the core focus of the update being known: another large (and locked) door, and the promise of Roslit Volcano’s eruption. It’s not clear if this was a tease for Mariana’s Veil or an undiscovered portion of the Ashfall event.

Prior to the suspected cataclysmic event, the foundations of what appears to be an oil rig appeared off the northern coast of Roslit Bay. This structure sits parallel to Roslit Volcano as if primed to capitalize on the fallout.

In the weeks leading up to the event, numerous volcanic fissures began to open up around the once-serene isle of Roslit Bay. As the update got closer, the booms, bangs, and pops from the bubbling lava appear to have grown more violent and persistent.

Talk to the onlooker staring at the volcano from the Roslit lighthouse to hear about how it’s “all ending” and that the “High Priest is making his entry into this world.”

When is the Fisch Volcano Eruption event?

The Fisch Volcano event is set to take place at Feb. 15 at 14:00 GMT. An in-game countdown is visible from the ocean that will reflect the release date in your local time.

It was originally scheduled for 13:00 GMT before the timer was changed to reflect a 13:30 GMT finish. Around 15 minutes from the revised time, it was pushed back again to reflect a 14:00 GMT finish.

There’s apparently no need to reload the game once the update lands. The servers will either enter the update phase as things switch over, or you’ll see the event happen in real time if you’re logged in when the timer hits zero. We’ll see how that turns out.

How do I get to the Fisch Volcano location?

Note: The inside of Roslit Volcano hasn’t changed with this update.

New to the game for the Fisch Volcano event? To reach the core location of the Mariana’s Veil prelude event, you just need to get a boat (or ride someone else’s) to Roslit Bay. It’s the island due east of the default spawn of Moosewood. You should see a big sign above the location once you leave Moosewood’s waters, so just follow that to quickly arrive at your destination.

Moor your vessel at the pier and continue to head east on foot, following what remains of the path until you spot the Angler on your left. Walk along the planks bridging the gap over the fissure, keeping the small pond on your left as you walk further along the island.

You’ll soon come across a campsite. Beside it is the entrance to Roslit Volcano, where we suspect the main activities of the Volcano Eruption event will take place.

Looking to get a big of extra cash to cover any rod costs for the new update? Check out the long list of Fisch codes to get a handy boost, bait, and probably a few cool bobbers, too.
