Hogwarts Legacy Twitch drops give you the chance to bag some exclusive customisation items for your player character in the wizard game. As with any Twitch drops, all you have to do to be rewarded is watch streams, so it couldn’t be easier to claim these in-game goodies.
As we touched upon in our Hogwarts Legacy review, the RPG game’s clothing items can be pretty drab, so any excuse to increase your Hogwarts Legacy wardrobe collection and transmog options is a welcome one – especially when that includes pointy Dragon-Eyes spectacles and the exclusive Merlin’s cloak. Here’s everything you need to know about getting these Hogwarts Legacy Twitch Drops for your own witch or wizard.
How to link your Hogwarts Legacy account for Twitch Drops
You can link your Warner Bros game account to Twitch from the Hogwarts Legacy website.
- Sign in to your Warner Bros account.
- Head to the Connections tab in your profile.
- Click “Connect” in the Twitch row.
- Login to or create your Twitch account.
In the Twitch Drops section for Hogwarts Legacy, you should now see that your accounts are “Connected”. Now, watch participating Hogwarts Legacy Twitch streams, and unlock your rewards!
Current Twitch Drops and requirements
Merlin’s cloak
Merlin’s Cloak was an exclusive reward available from watching some official Avalanche Software Early Access streams. However, the claim period has been extended, so you can now earn the fancy robes until February 25, 2023, at 12am PST, 3am EST, 8am GMT.
To claim Merlin’s cloak, watch any participating stream for a total of 20 minutes.

- Lilac Ensemble – two hours
How to claim Twitch drops
The watch time requirements don’t have to be met all in one go, and you can keep track of your progress on your Twitch Drops page. Once you have met the requirements, you’ll receive a notification, and must then claim the items from your Twitch Drops inventory.

The creator of the Harry Potter series, JK Rowling, has made a number of transphobic remarks on social media in recent years. Warner Bros. has the licence to make games based on Harry Potter. While the details of that deal aren’t publicly known, and WB Games says “J.K. Rowling is not directly involved in the creation of the game”, it is likely that, as the creator and owner of the Harry Potter IP, she will earn royalties from its sales.
