In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom you can reveal large portions of the map by activating towers. Doing so often requires you to take a more creative approach than is immediately apparent. Here is our guide on how to activate the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – how to activate Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower
You will find Sahasra Slope southeast from Lookout Landing and north of Mable Ridge, in the West Necluda region. When you approach the tower, you meet with a worker named Billson. He can’t get the building’s sliding front door to open. He talks about a cave that exists beneath the tower. That’s a clue.
To activate the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, you must explore the caves beneath the tower and use the Arise ability to arrive on the other side of the tricky door. Start by descending along the slope to find an opening on its west side.
As you proceed through the cave, you need to break away at a lot of weak rock walls. There are Boulders nearby and you should be able to find (or may already possess) some long poles. Fused together, these will allow you to break through the weak rock. You should reach a central chamber with Horriblin enemies. There are a few red ones and a blue one. Defeat them carefully. They can throw rocks or drop down behind you. If you have a potion to improve your defense rating, consider using it.
After you tend to the beasts, keep looking around. You should find a large gray boulder against a wall. Use your Ultrahand ability to move it out of the way. This reveals an opening that leads to the room with the cave’s resident frog. Not far ahead of the opening that leads to the frog’s cave, use the Arise ability. You should rise through the ceiling and appear within the tower, near the pedestal. If you’re off slightly, just drop back into the cave without emerging. Then reposition yourself slightly and try again.
To activate the pedestal once you arrive inside the tower, you need to open the door for Billson. If you try opening the door from within, you will initially fail. Billson suggests that you look around for anything that might be getting in the way.
Remove the two long poles that are wedged to either side of the sliding door. These count as melee weapons. If your inventory is already full, as mine was, drop some items so you can grab the poles. You must remove both poles from their positions on either side of the door. Then you can open the door, and Billson can enter to repair the pedestal. Once he completes his work, interact with the pedestal to activate the tower.
