In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can main one Vocation but I recommend trying them all to figure out which one you like best. Luckily, changing the Arisen’s and Pawn’s Vocations is easy in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 changing Vocations: Player Character and Pawn
It’s only natural for you to want to change Vocations throughout Dragon’s Dogma 2. The only way for you to change your player character’s and Pawn’s Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to talk to an Inn Keeper or Vocation Guild leader.
Once at the Vocation Guild menu, just tab right or left to swap between changing your Arisen’s and Pawn’s Vocation. You won’t be able to change the two other Pawns’ Vocations, of which you hopefully used Pawn IDs to summon.
Where can you change Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
The first place you’ll be able to change your Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is at Tristan’s Inn in Melve. Talk to Tristan and select the “Vocation Guild” and then the “Change Vocation” options. With the Vocation Guild menu before you, you can now change Vocations for your Arisen after spending DCP.
Interestingly enough, you can’t change your Pawn’s Vocation with Tristan in Melve just yet. For some reason, you need to continue to Vernworth and talk to the Vocation Guild leader there to unlock the ability to change your Pawn’s Vocation which can then be done through the Vocation Guild leader or Inn Keepers.
In large cities like Vernworth, you can’t speak to the Inn Keeper to change your Vocation but instead need to talk to the Vocation Guild leader. Small towns, like Melve, don’t have Vocation Guilds, in which case you usually can change your Vocation through the Inn Keeper. Some Inn Keepers don’t give you an option to change your Vocation. In those cases, I recommend fast traveling to a city to find a Vocation Guild leader.
Is there a limit to Vocation changing in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Fortunately, there is no limit to how many times you can change Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Capcom wants you to experiment with the unique, equally powerful Vocations and doesn’t punish you with a limit or currency to switch.
How do you change to Advanced Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
You start the game with the Fighter, Thief, Archer, and Mage Vocations unlocked in Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, you’ll naturally want to try the Advanced Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2 which are Warrior, Sorcerer, Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer, Trickster, and Warfarer.
You need to unlock each Advanced Vocation to be able to switch to them. Warrior and Sorcerer are unlocked via a quest near the beginning of the game, but Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer, Trickster, and Warfarer are all unlocked individually at different points of the game.
Once each Advanced Vocation is unlocked with DCP, you can switch to them with ease. The only difference with Advanced Vocations is your Pawns can’t be them, save Warrior and Sorcerer which they can be. As you try to find what Advanced Vocation you like best, you should consider what the best Advanced Vocations are.
