If you’re excited for Nala and Simba from The Lion King to come to Disney Dreamlight Valley, they’ve arrived! In the latest Pride of the Valley update, you can travel to The Lion King realm and invite Nala and Simba to the Valley. But to do this, you’ll need to know how to complete the ‘Eyes in the Dark’ quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Continue reading to find out how to finish this quest.

‘Eyes in the Dark’ quest guide for Disney Dreamlight Valley

Unlocking the door to The Lion King realm costs 10,000 Dreamlight. Once opened, you’ll soon meet Nala. She asks that while she holds off the hyenas, you help keep tthem away from the dried-out oasis. To do so, you must dig out dried thorn bushes and find five Thorn Bush Seeds. Take out your shovel, and dig any spot that looks like dried-out thorn bushes.

Then, plant the seeds in the holes near the ledge. You’ll find a ledge with five pre-dug holes where you can plant the Thorn Bush Seeds. Once you plant all five, water each of them. A cutscene will start, showing the fast growth of the thorn bushes. Nala comes back, and luckily no hyenas are trailing behind.

Now you must find a way into the cave that reaches the jungle. Simply pull out your shovel and dig up the two stumps outside the mushroom-glowing cave. Once you’re in the jungle, the next step requires you to make the log fall. Head left towards the waterfall, and you’ll see a large rock. Take out your pickaxe and get rid of the rock. The log will fall, and you can now climb up into the rest of the jungle.

How to find the bugs in the ‘Eyes in the Dark’ quest

Walk up the log, and you’ll soon find Simba. The two mates reunite, but they don’t have much food around. So they’ll ask that you create a meal using different types of bugs.

  • Six colorful bugs in the dried-out oasis
  • Three slimy bugs in the river

You’ll now notice that the river around you has fishing spots. Take out your fishing rod, and catch the three slimy bugs in the river. Once that’s done, you’ll have to trek back to the dried-out oasis. If you’re confused as to where these bugs are, they’ll have to be dug out. Take out your shovel, and dig up the spots that are shiny. Colorful bugs will spring out from them.

The final spot to catch bugs is deeper within the jungle. After talking to Simba, head up in the jungle and dig out the large stump. Six red bugs will scurry out, leaving you to chase after them. Once close enough to a bug, press the ‘E’ key to pick it up. Once they’ve all been collected, it’s time to cook them into a meal.

Now, if you’re wondering how you’re supposed to create a meal with no cooking pot, head back to where Simba and Nala are. You should see tree stumps with glowing blue and green liquid, which is a makeshift cooking station. Cook up three Bug Platters, and bring them to Nala and Simba.

How to get rid of the hyenas in the ‘Eyes in the Dark’ quest

The hyenas are still not letting up. To get rid of them, you figure that Scrooge McDuck should have a solution. Head back to Dreamlight Valley, and talk to Scrooge. He says that you can craft a Sound System to scare them off. You’ll only need a few resources to craft this machine.

  • 10 Softwood
  • Five Hardwood
  • Two Iron Ingots

Once you’ve crafted a Sound System, bring it to Nala in The Lion King realm. After belting out some loud roars, it seems as though the hyenas cleared out. Finally, Nala is willing to join you in the Valley. The last step is to place Pride Rock in the Valley, and pay 15,000 Star Coins to build it. Nala appears at the Plaza, and once you chat with her, the quest in complete! Once ‘Eyes in the Dark’ is finished, you can bring Simba to the Valley with the ‘Stars to Guide Us’ quest.
