The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a rich world populated by characters with their own problems. Sometimes, you get to help them fix what ails them, even when it doesn’t contribute directly to defeating the game’s boss. Take the Rito Rope Bridge for instance which has fallen into disrepair. Here is how to complete the Rito Rope Bridge in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – how to complete the Rito Rope Bridge
The Rito Rope Bridge stretches across a gap between land around the Lucky Clover Gazette tent and the cliffside where Rito Village is built. At least, it should. When you first encounter it, that’s not the case. You need to find a way to restore the bridge to its former glory.
How to Start the Side Quest
To complete the Rito Rope Bridge, get assistance from a carpenter. The carpenter you want to work with starts the game in Lookout Landing.
Before you worry about finding the carpenter, you need to clear the Wind Temple. If you need assistance, check our guide explaining how to open five locks in the Wind Temple. Once you accomplish that task, the Rito Village area will be in much better shape.
After clearing the Wind Temple, talk to Gesane and Juannelle. You find them on the side of the bridge nearest the tent. They mention a carpenter at Lookout Landing whose name ends in “son,” and this kicks off The Rito Rope Bridge quest.
Head to Lookout Landing and look for Karson. His name ends in ‘son,’ so he’s your guy. You may have spoken with him previously and forgotten about that interaction, as I did. Near the start of the game, you use the Ultrahand ability to repair the settlement’s stable roof. When you talk to Karson in Lookout Landing after completing that chore and after talking to Gesane and Juannelle (look for him near the mini stable at the south entrance), he sets out for the ruined bridge.
Unfortunately, the master carpenter forgets that in order to repair the bridge, he needs plenty of supplies. Meet up with Karson at the bridge and provide 20 pieces of Wood. If you are short on supplies yourself, follow his suggestion and chop down trees with an ax or bladed weapon. Then chop the logs again to produce Wood bundles.
When you provide Karson with the Wood, he will complete the bridge. This interaction also ends your quest. You receive a Silver Rupee as your reward.
