by theygamesIn Palworld, Katress is a pretty powerful Pal that also has a Field Boss variant for you to take on. Her ability is interesting, and she is a pretty good worker to have around the base. I’ll be telling you how best to capture Katress, and all that it’s good at.
Katress spawn points in Palworld
Katress is a Pal that only spawns at night and in caves, so if you want to catch yourself one in the wild, you’ll have to do some spelunking or wait for night to fall.
You’ll find her prowling around in these locations:
As you can see, she gets around. If you’re a new player, then I’d advise that you level up some more before challenging one. They do spawn alone, but they’re a powerful Pal and spawns in typically with 25+ levels.
Make sure you’ve got a shield and at least Pelt Armor before trying to capture one.
You’ll want a Giga Sphere when trying to capture them, any weaker and you’ll have next to zero odds of pulling off the catch. Bring a Crossbow to whittle their health down, and keep striking for the head to deal more damage.
Upon being captured or defeated, a Katress will drop Leather, Katress Hair, and a High Grade Technical Manual which grants you one Tech point once used. These drops are all chance drops.

The Katress Boss fight in Palworld
If you’d rather have a more powerful version of Katress, or if you want the challenge, then you can take on or capture the Katress Field Boss.
You’ll find the Katress Field Boss here:
This boss isn’t out in the open like other Field Bosses, but sealed away. Upon entering the dungeon, you’ll be in an arena with the level 23 Boss Katress.
As it’s a Dark Type Pal, you’ll preferably want Dragon-type moves to deal extra damage. Don’t use Neutral-type Pals, as Katress will surely destroy them.
Katresses are powerful by default, and the boss version has even more stats, so be careful. You will want Metal Armor and at least a regular shield. It may be wise to capture the Chillet Field Boss that’s not too far away, as it’ll have elevated stats and has Dragon-type moves.
The Giga Sphere should work in capturing the Katress Field boss, although for more guaranteed results, the Hyper Sphere will work wonders.
Alongside the usual Katress drops, you’ll get 3 Precious Pelts and, if it’s the first time you’ve defeated the Katress boss, you’ll also gain an Ancient Technology Point and some Ancient Civilization Parts.
Katress stats in Palworld
Katress is a useful Pal to have on the base and in your team, as her Work Suitabilities and Skills are pretty good.
With lvl 2 Handiwork, Medicine Production, and Transporting, your base structures and items will get produced much quicker. It may be worth grabbing a few at a time to assign them to workbenches to get these jobs done much quicker.
Her Partner Skill, Grimoir Collector, makes Neutral Pals drop more loot. This doesn’t add to their loot pool, but means that their existing drops will be more numerous. This means that grinding for important Neutral Pal drops like Wool or even High Quality Pal Oil (from Grintale) becomes much easier and more bountiful.
As Katress levels up, they’ll gain Fire and Dark-type moves.
