Although Season of the Malignant passed, Malignant Rings are reminiscent of the first season. But how do you get the Malignant Ring of the Sacrilegious Soul in Diablo 4?
In total, there are five Malignant Rings, one for each class, you can collect, each including unique effects. Here’s how to get this specific one meant for Necromancers.
Diablo 4: Where to find the Malignant Ring of the Sacrilegious Soul
Obtaining any of the Malignant Rings is tough, but still viable. How you can get the Ring of the Sacrilegious Soul in Diablo 4 is by defeating the Echo of Varshan. It’s the best way to farm these rings, but you’ll need to figure out how to summon this endgame boss first.
If you played through the Season 1 questline, you’ll recognize Varshan. This is a much tougher version of him though, and you’ll need to get Malignant Body Parts to summon the Echo of Varshan. Specifically, the Gurgling Head, Blackened Femur, and Trembling Hand, alongside the Malignant Heart.
As a reminder, the only way to earn a Malignant Heart is on World Tier 4, and you can earn them by completing Grim Favors through the Tree of Whispers, or killing Grotesque Debtors. The other three body parts can be obtainable on World Tier 3.
After completing 10 Grim Favors, you can earn yourself a Whisper Cache, with the chance of it containing a Malignant Body Part. Take them to The Writhing Mire, which is beside the Tree of Whispers, and summon Varshan. Upon defeat, you may earn yourself the Ring of the Sacrilegious Soul.

But what’s so special about this ring for Necromancers? Well, here’s its unique effect:
- You automatically activate the following equipped Skills on Corpses around you:
- Raise Skeleon every [2.0-1.0] seconds.
- Corpse Explosion every [2.0-1.0] seconds.
- Corpse Tendrils every [16-8] seconds.
Unfortunately, you must have the Skills equipped for the Ring of the Sacrilegious Soul to work, but it’s a pretty powerful ring otherwise. In terms of Affixes, here’s what it can offer:
- Resistance to Poison
- Resistance to All Elements
- Lucky Hit Chance
- Maximum Life
- Maximum Essence
- Ranks of all Corpse Skills
If you’re playing a Necromancer this season, or any future season, you should look out for the Ring of the Sacrilegious Soul. Yes, these Malignant Rings are available in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms.
