Should I get the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost Event Card?
The Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2023 event is entirely free. You don’t have to own a specific expansion or season pass and you don’t need to buy the Event Card. However, if you’re considering buying the optional Event Card, here is what you’ll get:

- Sugary Staple Exotic Sparrow
- Roseate Gleam Shader
- Earnable Rewards
- Cobwebbed Ghost Projection – One Event Ticket
- Sugar Rush Transmat Effect – Two Event Tickets

I’m not gonna lie, I have never bought Silver to buy cosmetics or Event Cards in Destiny 2, but the Festival of the Lost 2023 Event Card doesn’t look bad. The Vampiric Pose Exotic Emote looks really cool and it has unique bat noise effects, the candy corn Exotic Sparrow is pretty nice, and the Roseate Gleam Shader has highly coveted RNG that only Photo Finish currently has.
If you love Halloween and know you will play Festival of the Lost for a while, I would recommend buying the Event Card. However, my pro tip is to wait a few days and see if you get tired of the Festival of the Lost. Opening day is always exciting and fun, but are you still enjoying it after grinding the same activities for a few days? If the answer is yes, buy the Event Card. If the answer is no, pass and enjoy everything Festival of the Lost has to offer.
Whether you wait or buy the Festival of the Lost 2023 Event Card on day one, you aren’t missing anything. You still earn Event Card Tickets even if you don’t own the Event Card, so if you change your mind and want to buy it, you can cash in all of your Event Card Tickets whenever you want.
Grinding all 17 Event Challenges and going for the Ghost Writer Title is fun on its own as it doesn’t require the eEvent Card. Personally, I’m not gonna get the Event Card, especially because it doesn’t give you free access to the new armor ornaments. However, I wouldn’t blame you if you do buy it because it does have some pretty sweet limited-time rewards.
