When is Minecraft Live 2025? Minecraft Live is now a twice-annual livestream event hosted by members of the Mojang team to inform the community about the latest goings on, development updates, and more. The event used to take lace once a year, and was always a huge date among the Minecraft community, so we can’t wait to experience the hype twice yearly.

Until 2024, usually around the Summer, a huge, single, epic update has come to everyone’s favorite sandbox game, and undeniably one of the best PC games of all time, Minecraft. In recent years, that update has been announced during Minecraft Live. Now, the landscape of Minecraft updates is changing forever with multiple ‘Drops’ spread throughout the year, announced during two annual Minecraft Live broadcasts. So, here’s what we know about how that impacts the Minecraft calendar when we might expect to see Minecraft Live in 2025.

Minecraft Live 2025

The first Minecraft Live 2025 takes place on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT. During the event, we can expect a release date announcement for the next update drop.

For the last few years, the annual Minecraft Live took place in or around October, with Minecraft Live 2024 broadcasting on September 28. With this in mind, we would expect one of the biannual events to happen around the same time. With the next Minecraft Live taking place in March, we would hope to see another in September again this year.

We already know what’s coming from the next Minecraft update, thanks to a series of Minecraft snapshots in which you can already test upcoming features.

How to watch Minecraft Live

Minecraft Live is streamed on Youtube, Twitch, and the official Minecraft website. If you miss it, you can always catch up on the full stream or the highlights after the event.

In previous years, the show has started with a ‘pre-show’ feature, during which well-known Minecraft content creators recap their year in the game, and we expect to see another pre-show take place this time around.

From there, new updates on all of Mojang’s projects are revealed. Historically, this has included a Minecraft mob vote, on which we discuss more below, but Mojang has confirmed the mob vote will no longer take place. Catch up on all previous events or get ready for the next one on the Minecraft YouTube channel, Minecraft Twitch channel, or minecraft.net.

Minecraft Live mob vote

The Minecraft mob vote is not happening in future Minecraft Live shows, with the 2023 vote – won by the Minecraft Armadillo – being the last.

The Minecraft mob vote has been a bone of contention for the last few years. In 2020, the Minecraft glow squid won the vote, but many thought this decision was unfair since Dream – who had a huge following at the time – asked his fans to vote for the squid. Many thought this swayed the voting in his favor and was thus rigged.

Since then, many have complained about the Minecraft Live mob vote, despite it being arguably the most popular part of the show. Another reason many players have fought against the vote, including signing a mob vote petition in 2023, is because they feel one new mob a year isn’t enough, and there is no reason all three new mobs couldn’t be added – or more.

Whatever the reason, whether it’s one of these or something we aren’t privy to, the Minecraft Live mob vote is no more.

So that’s everything we know about Minecraft Live 2025 and beyond. When more is announced for the building game broadcast, we’ll add it here.
