A Baldur’s Gate 3 and Stardew Valley crossover just makes sense. The prospect of watching a little pixelated Gale tend to crops, or observing Wyll patrol Pelican Town’s virtual cobblestone streets, brings me a profound sense of joy. These are dreams I didn’t know I had until I learned about a mod that aimed to bring the idea to life, and now it’s finally here. So if you’ve been itching to get back to Stardew, or just want another way to romance Astarion, your prayers have been answered.
Called ‘Baldur’s Village,’ the new Stardew Valley mod does more than just bring the cast of BG3 to Pelican Town. The party from Larian’s adventure has a new region to explore, stores to rummage through, dynamic events, storylines, unique dialogue, and even romance options along with them. So this is the perfect excuse to come back to the farming game.
The Baldur’s Village team says more than 20 unique characters have been added to Stardew Valley, including the likes of Karlach, Wyll, Shadowheart, Gale, and more. You even have a few events to experience depending on the location and time of day, like a welcome party and a moment with Alfira.
The bulk of the mod’s content comes with Astarion, however. The suave vampire has a plethora of quests and can they even be fully romanced, embracing the relationship mechanics of both Baldur’s Gate 3 and Stardew Valley all at once. Gale’s penchant for getting stuck in portals also looks like it’ll come up, so it’s not all going to be deadly love affairs.
The development team still has more to come, too, with Halsin’s romance storyline in the works. After that, the modders say they will “shift our attention to expanding the mod’s world-building, background stories, and gameplay by introducing new features and items.”
Even Larian founder and BG3 director Swen Vincke took notice of the mod’s release, quoting the announcement and saying, “So much love went into this – amazing work!” Now we just need a Baldur’s Gate 3 mod that introduces Stardew Valley to the Forgotten Realms, to bring everything full circle.
Baldur’s Village is available on Nexus Mods right now, alongside full installation instructions.
