Between Palworld, Enshrouded, Once Human, The Forever Winter, and Pacific Drive we’ve been spoilt for choice – but a few stuck out to me more than most. Both Soulmask and The Planet Crafter are slowly clawing their way out of Steam Early Access with regular updates, and each is equally worth your time. If you’re yet to try either, then, you’re in luck because both are now part of a discounted bundle.
Soulmask is easily one of the biggest survival games on Steam, with developer CampFire Studio promising hundreds of hours of gameplay. What sets Soulmask apart from the rest is its tribe system, which changes how you fight, explore, and do just about everything the genre is known for. You can recruit NPCs to your group and then send them off to gather resources, find food, or even build on your behalf, which leaves you free to do whatever else you want. These NPCs are even more useful than that, however, because you can control them directly, using their skills and stats to your advantage whenever possible.
CampFire Studio also released the Soulmask Wild Ride update last year, which came with plenty of new ideas, improvements, and even free DLC. Soulmask now has new map events, the Honor Arena fighting pit, new Elephant mounts, and a free decoration pack that all players can download.
As for The Planet Crafter, it’s a crafting open-world game with a distinct sci-fi twist. Terraforming means you watch the alien planets shift and change around you, as you produce oxygen, heating, and resources – in an effort to build a home base on a hostile world. With a staggering 96% positive rating from over 45,000 user reviews and counting, The Planet Crafter is one you don’t want to miss.
Developer Miju Games also released the free Decoration update at the end of last year, so you’ve got even more to play around with in The Planet Crafter. The patch added 40 new decoration elements, effigies, and posters to the game, alongside a plethora of smaller quality-of-life fixes.
The Planet Crafter and Soulmask bundle is available on Steam at 20% off right now, so expect to pay $43.18 / £35.98. If you already own one of the games and purchase the bundle, you’ll only pay for the other and still get the discount. It’s unclear exactly when the sale will end, but you can find it here.
