The team at Red Barrels has announced Toxic Shock, the first limited-time event for The Outlast Trials.
Running from April 16 to May 7, Toxic Shock in The Outlast Trials will have a new Variator in the form of toxic gas. Filling the Trial environment sporadically, players will need to hide to stay alive. Players will also have to complete a secondary objective of collecting drugged rats for tissue analysis to receive additional rewards. Those that do complete these trials will be able to earn for themselves exclusive Toxic Shock Rewards.
Being one month out of Early Access, more than two million test subjects have braved The Outlast Trials. There have been 38 million deaths and counting, with enough blood spilled to submerge NYC’s Central Park under a two-meter-deep sea of blood.
Alex Charbonneau, Game Director, emphasizing the team’s commitment to evolving The Outlast Trials alongside its community:
“Listening closely to our players has always been at the heart of what we do at Red Barrels. It’s players’ feedback that lights the way, guiding us on how to refine and elevate the game to the pinnacle of horror gaming experiences. We’re dedicated to fine-tuning the game, to deliver a game that is not only horrifying and thrilling but also deeply immersive. Our vision is to create a multiplayer experience that continues to captivate and terrify players for years to come.”
