For most shooters, the M4A1 seems to be one of the staples standing beside the AK-47. Both are very easy to use and have great handling, which is why they can be the go-to weapon for many players. In XDefiant the meta of the M4A1 is the same as other games. It’s versatility and high damage is something to not shy away from. Additionally, just like the AK-47 you can upgrade it to make the gun even better. When I upgraded the M4A1, I was able to play harder, and the gun was easier to use. If you want to know the secret sauce, read this guide for the best M4A1 loadout in XDefiant.

XDefiant: Best loadout for the M4A1

During my time playing XDefiant, I found the following attachments worked best for my playstyle:

  • Muzzle – Barrel Extender
  • Barrel – Stabilizing
  • Front rail – Angeld Grip
  • Magazine – Quick Mag
  • Stock – Lightweight

The reason why I picked this loadout is that I enjoy the close combat of the game. Most of the modifications are designed for that. Plus as the Cleaner, I’m able to get more out of the M4A1 overall.  Such as running and gunning, which allows me to use the weapon with ease.

Barrel Extender: With this muzzle, you may be fighting at close range. However, the best part is that your accuracy will skyrocket this distance. When all your shots connect, you may just become a threat at medium and close ranges.

Stabilizing: Being accurate is crucial, and for smaller maps consider it necessary. If you’re holding down a position, landing your shots counts more in XDefiant. Paring this with Cleaner’s passive Incendiary Ammo can make multiple enemies go down at once if all your shots hit their target.

Angled Grip: Before we dive further into this part, note that this loadout may make you quick. This front rail somewhat compromises on the speed front for accuracy. Being fast won’t help if you can’t defend yourself. The Angled Grip does that, you won’t be able to escape firefights as quickly, but you’ll be able to hold your ground better.

Quick Mag: This is a step above the default, but it’s a balanced mag for a balanced gun. As you can already tell, a lot of this loadout is centered around speed and accuracy. While the default setting to reload is fast, this makes it faster. So if you find yourself in the middle of a fight, quickly step out, reload with lightspeed and reengage. You also get five more shots, in XDefiant that’s quite helpful.

Lightweight: Much like the Quick Mag and the Angeld Grip, this stock will have some compromises. The good news is that it won’t affect your meta as much, but you’ll just need to fight a little more conservatively. As mentioned earlier, you’ll be able to run and gun better with this stock.  On top of that, you become quite fast with the Lightweight, which may make you a header target to hit. The accuracy suffers a bit with this stock, but if you have something like the Barrel Extender, the effects seem to be negated.

XDefiant is in open access now via Ubisoft Connect.
