In Hades 2, death doesn’t have to be the end of your run. There are ways to get more than one life, which will serve you extraordinarily well on your runs.

How to get more lives in Hades 2

As far as I know, there are currently only two ways to get more lives in Hades 2, resulting in two rebirths from death. Note that these aren’t a full revival, and you will get revived in a lesser state, but it’s better than nothing.

You will get these through Arcana Cards and Keepsakes, so have plenty of Ash and Nectar at the ready!

How to get Death Defiance in Hades 2

Death Defiance is the official term for defying death and reviving in Hades 2. You can get one Death Defiance from the Arcana Card Eternity, which costs 20 Ash and requires 4 Grasp. This is cheap and not that demanding, meaning you should be able to benefit from it soon enough.

You will need to purchase a minimum of three other Arcana Cards to unlock Eternity, as they are unlocked once you’ve purchased adjacent Arcana Cards.

This Death Defiance will only work once on each run, and will restore 40% of your max Life and max Magick. This is best paired with The Titan Arcana Card, as that improves your max Life and Magick by 20. The larger your Life pool, the more Life you’ll receive. So maybe you won’t be too worse-off after revival.

How to get Luckier Tooth in Hades 2

The other way to get another life in Hades 2 is from the Keepsake Luckier Tooth.

You can get this Keepsake from gifting Schelemeus a Nectar for the first time. You’ll find the captain north of the Silver Pool, teaching the Shades.

The Luckier Tooth provides you with another Death Defiance, although the amount of health it provides you is fixed. It won’t provide any Magick. You can upgrade this Keepsake to provide more health upon dying, from clearing encounters with it equipped.

When you unlock the ability to switch Keepsakes between Underworld Regions, you can strategically switch to this before entering a region giving you trouble.

If you unequip Luckier Tooth, then equip it again, you won’t be able to benefit from it again. I tried, and regretted it as what I thought was going to be a penultimate death, was my last.

With more Death Defiances on your side, you’ll be able to last much longer. Just don’t get too far, or you’ll get a visit from Eris.
