Earning Plunder in World of Warcraft: Plunderstorm unlocks a treasure trove of rewards in classic and modern WoW. This guide covers the fastest and most efficient ways to earn Plunder to increase your Renown with Keg Leg’s Crew and earn rewards such as giant parrot mounts and even Trader’s Tender.

How to get Plunder in Plunderstorm

Players earn Plunder in World of Warcraft: Plunderstorm by defeating enemies, looting chests, and completing quests. See the glowing loot piles? Pick them up! While it sounds like a spendable currency, Plunder is actually converted to Renown (reputation) with Keg Leg’s Crew at the end of a match.

For Dragonflight players out there, Renown essentially works the same way in Plunderstorm as it does in retail World of Warcraft. Your Renown Level increases as you earn Plunder (reputation), unlocking new rewards in WoW Classic, Dragonflight, and Plunderstorm at each tier.

Best ways to earn Plunder and level Keg Leg’s Crew Renown

Whether you’re looking to earn max Renown as soon as possible or want to make the most out of every match, these are the top tips and tricks for earning Plunder in World of Warcraft: Plunderstorm.

Complete the Captain’s Orders

At the beginning of every Plunderstorm match, you receive one of six Captain’s Orders Quests. These involve completing a simple objective even the most yellow-bellied landlubber could accomplish without breaking a sweat. Captain’s Orders award 250 Plunder and should be your main priority at the beginning of every game.

Landing, completing your Captain’s Orders Quest, dying, and repeating is technically the fastest possible way to earn Plunder — though I wouldn’t recommend it if you have any sense of self-worth. Swashbuckling and adventuring are much more fun.

Complete the Daily Quest

In addition to Captain’s Orders, you will receive a Daily Quest worth 800 Plunder every day. If you’re eyeing the Royal Sefeather mount or pirate transmog but don’t fancy grinding, completing the Daily Quest each day should be enough to earn the most notable rewards before the event ends.

Defeat as many NPCs as possible

Outside of Quests, Plunder is earned through defeating NPCs. Pick up any AoE skills you find and defeat every PvE enemy that crosses your path. Landing on the outskirts of the map is typically the best plan, though I’ve also had luck in Stormgarde Keep.

Play Duos

Two pirates are better than one! Select Duos before joining a game to matchmake with a fellow buccaneer or invite a Battle.net friend along for the ride. This makes killing enemies and collecting Plunder much faster. Plus, your teammate can revive you if you run into any trouble. Speaking of…

Avoid other players

While it may sound counterintuitive for a battle royale, I highly recommend avoiding other players as much as possible. It hurts the pirate inside me to say this, but fighting others isn’t worth the risk or the reward.

Winning feels fantastic, but focusing on PvP will slow down your Plunder gain overall. Hopefully, the PvP side of Plunderstorm will reward more Plunder with upcoming improvements.

Keg Leg’s Crew Renown farming summary

The fastest and most efficient way to earn Plunder in Plunderstorm is to complete Quests, avoid PvP, and destroy every NPC in sight. Since there are (currently) no rewards for placements, it’s wise to die and start a new match when the storm covers around 50% of the map.

Everything being said, don’t expect to be rocking up to Valdrakken in your Plunderlord outfit atop your Polly Roger straight away. Pirating takes time, and the Plunder grind is undoubtedly a long one. Good luck out there, matey!
