Acheron is the headlining 5-star character of Honkai Star Rail version 2.1, and many Trailblazers are incredibly excited to add her to their teams. She’s a Lightning character of the Nihility Path just like Kafka, but her playstyle is quite different.

Acheron’s banner will debut during the first phase of Honkai Star Rail version 2.1 beginning on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Just like all featured banners in Honkai Star Rail, Acheron will be available for three weeks until she is replaced by a new character on Wednesday, April 17. This character will likely be Aventurine, another major character in the Honkai Star Rail 2.0 storyline.

As always, a Brilliant Fixation banner will be active alongside Acheron’s main banner that features her signature Light Cone “Along the Passing Shore.” This grants the user a boost to CRIT DMG and Ultimate damage while also causing their attacks to inflict a debuff called Empty Bubbles, which causes enemies to take 24% extra damage. This sounds like it’s a great overall Light Cone that works well with most characters, so it’s a safe investment if you’ve got the Stellar Jades.

How to Farm Materials for Acheron

If you want to prepare for Acheron’s arrival and make sure you have enough materials for her ahead of time, there are a few things you can do. Firstly, level up your Nameless Honor battle pass to stock up on Credits and Tears of Dreams. Second, purchase as many Tracks of Destiny as you can from the shop and squeeze as many as you can out of Nameless Honor and events.

To get the rest of Acheron’s materials, you’ll need to farm Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Nihility in the Alchemy Commission aboard the Xianzhou Luofu to get Fiery Spirit, Starfire Essence, and Heaven Incinerator. You’ll need a ton of Shapeshifter’s Lightning Staff too, which is obtained from Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Doom in Stagazer Navalia in the Xianzhou Luofu.

For her Traces, you’ll also need to farm Echo of War: Borehole Planet’s Old Crater and defeat the Starcrusher Swarm King: Skaracabaz boss to get Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster. The hardest part of farming for Acheron is stocking up on Dream Collection Components, Dream Flow Valves, and Dream Making Engines. These are only obtainable by defeating Dreamjolt Troupe enemies found in Penacony.

While you can get Dream Collection Component from assignments and the shop (as well as Calyx (Golden): Dream’s Edge in Penacony), you’re going to be stuck waiting for enemies to respawn if you want to farm these materials. Your best bet is going to be doing Simulated Universe runs over and over until you get the drops you need.

Acheron Kit and Abilities

Acheron’s kit revolves around dealing Lightning damage to groups of enemies by inflicting a debuff called Crimson Knot that triggers additional damage when Acheron uses her Ultimate ability. Here’s what each of her abilities does at their base levels.

Ability Description
Normal Attack Deals Lightning DMG equal to 50% of Acheron’s ATK to a single enemy.
Skill Gains 1 point(s) of Slashed Dream.

Inflicts 1 stack(s) of Crimson Knot on a single target enemy, dealing Lightning DMG equal to 80% of Acheron’s ATK to this target, as well as Lightning DMG equal to 30% of Acheron’s ATK to adjacent targets.

Ultimate Sequentially unleash Rainblade 3 times and Stygian Resurge 1 time, dealing Lightning DMG up to 223% of Acheron’s ATK to a single target enemy, as well as Lightning DMG up to 180% of Acheron’s ATK to other targets.

Rainblade: Deals Lightning DMG equal 14% to of Acheron’s ATK to a single target enemy and removes up to 3 stacks of Crimson Knot from the target. When Crimson Knot is removed, immediately deals Lightning DMG equal to 9% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies. For every stack of Crimson Knot removed, the DMG Multiplier for this is additionally in creased, up to a maximum of 36%.

Stygian Resurge: Deals Lightning DMG equal to 72% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies and removes all Crimson Knots. Crimson Knot cannot be applied to enemies during the Ultimate.

Talent When Slashed Dream reaches 9 points, the Ultimate can be activated. During the Ultimate, reduces enemies’ Toughness regardless of Weakness Types and reduces all enemies’ All-Type RES by 10%, lasting until the end of the Ultimate.

When any unit inflicts debuffs on an enemy target while using their ability, Acheron gains 1 point of Slashed Dream and inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot on the target. If debuffs are inflicted on multiple targets, then the 1 stack of Crimson Knot will be inflicted on the enemy target with the most Crimson Knot stacks. This effect can only trigger once per every ability usage.

After an enemy target exits the field or gets defeated by any unit while Acheron is on the field, their Crimson Knot stacks will be transferred to the enemy target with the most Crimson Knot stacks on the whole field.

Technique Immediately attacks the enemy, and gains Quadrivalent Ascendance at the start of every wave, dealing Lightning DMG equal to 200% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies and reducing Toughness of all enemies irrespective of Weakness Types.

Quadrivalent Ascendance: The next time Acheron uses her Ultimate, she gains 1 point of Slashed Dream and inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot on a single random enemy.
If a normal enemy is attacked, they will be immediately defeated and will not enter combat. The Technique Point is not spent if the attack does not hit an enemy.

Basically, Acheron relies on her Skill and debuffs inflicted by allies to gain stacks of Slashed Dream and inflict stacks of Crimson Knot on enemies. After reaching nine stacks of Slashed Dream, she can use her Ultimate. Her Ultimate does a ton of damage and removes Crimson Knots from all enemies, causing bonus damage based on the number of stacks removed at once.

It’s a unique playstyle for a Nihility character, and she’ll fit well into debuff and DoT teams that are in need of some bonus damage. Since her normal attack is basically useless, though, she won’t mesh well with a Skill Point-hungry team.

Acheron Eidolons

If you have the Stellar Jades to burn (or if you’re a whale), then Acheron’s Eidolons can drastically enhance her combat capabilities.

Eidolon Effect
E1: Silenced Sky Spake Sooth CRIT Rate increases by 18% when dealing DMG to debuffed enemies.
E2: Mute Thunder in Still Tempest The number of Nihility characters required for the Trace “The Abyss” to achieve its highest possible effect is reduced by 1.

When this unit’s turn starts, gains 1 point of Slashed Dream and inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot on the enemy with the most Crimson Knot stacks.

E3: Frost Bites in Death Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.

Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.

E4: Shrined Fire for Mirrored Soul When enemy targets enter combat, makes them Vulnerable to Ultimate DMG, increasing the amount of DMG they take from Acheron’s Ultimate by 8%.
E5: Strewn Souls on Erased Earths Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.

Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.

E6: Apocalypse, the Emancipator Increases the All-Type RES PEN for the Ultimate DMG dealt by Acheron by 20%.

The DMG dealt by Basic ATK and Skill will also be considered as Ultimate DMG and can reduce enemy toughness regardless of Weakness Types. When Weakness is broken, triggers the Lightning Weakness Break effect.

Acheron is an incredibly powerful character, but she requires some very specific strategies to excel. Slotting her into a team that doesn’t revolve around her will only waste her potential, so make sure you’ve got some decent Nihility units like Kafka or Serval to help Acheron deal the most damage with her abilities.
