The Season of the Construct is back with many new mechanics that will challenge the player in many ways. Still, it has also brought forward several gameplay changes and balancing that seem to make the life of the average Diablo 4 player a little easier. Just a little, though! Here is how to farm Legendary and Unique items in Diablo 4 Season 3.

Diablo 4: How to farm Legendary and Unique items in Season 3

While things haven’t changed much in regards to what you can do to get Legendary and Unique Items in Diablo 4, there have been some changes such as the dungeon rotation for both World Tier 3 and 4 as well as the introduction of the Echo of Malphas that will help you get Unique Stones for your Seneschal Companion. And while both Legendaries and in a less common way Uniques can drop randomly by doing normal activities, the best way to farm them is to engage in really hard Tier 3 or Tier 4 end-game content.

Nightmare Dungeons

Thanks to the latest 1.3.0 update for Diablo 4 Season of the Construct, a good chunk of Nightmare Dungeons have been selected to drop rarer equipment and gear more often. This of course includes Unique items in the mix, so take notes on the World Tier 3 and Tier 4 Nightmare Dungeons that will help you out in your journey of collecting Uniques – and therefore, Legendaries as well – in Diablo 4 Season 3:

Helltides

Thanks to the introduction of the Season of the Construct, Helltides now take place every single hour. You will need to reach Nightmare difficulty before taking part in this event, but the possibility of getting Legendary and Unique items makes it worth it. Collect as many Aberrant Cinders as you can and then be sure to check out our guide on Chest locations if you need help tracking them down. Helltides have had a level increase as well so if you find the enemies are too strong, you may want to return once you’re stronger.

World Bosses / Endgame Bosses

World Bosses have a good chance to drop decent loot along with a guaranteed ‘Grand Cache’ once per week. This Cache contains Legendary gear. The ‘once per week’ limit is for each boss, so 3 Caches are available every seven days. Remember that the Caches match your level when you defeat the Bosses, so if you get one at Level 35 but don’t open it until you’re Level 50, everything will be under-leveled.

Endgame bosses will also carry a different type of Unique loot pool which will allow you to farm specific Uniques in Diablo 4. This is easier said than done of course since beating Endgame Bosses is one of the most difficult things you can do in the game, so get ready to level up!

Treasure Goblins

Although you can’t ‘farm’ Treasure Goblins, they are worth hunting now more than ever. Treasure Goblins are guaranteed to drop Legendary gear once you’re above Level 35. Their spawns are unpredictable, so you can’t increase the likelihood of appearing. Still, they are worth going for when you see them.

Gathering Legion Events

Legion Events along with the other events on this list are extremely popular among Diablo 4 players. These events were already decent as the chests dropped a ton of gear and Obols; more on those later. Thanks to the mob density, Legion Events are worth the visit for the mountain of EXP, and the Legendary gear makes them more valuable than ever.

Tree of Whispers

This is arguably the slowest method to get Legendary gear, but it’s a change of pace and can be fast if easy favors are available. The Caches you get to pick from are random but do offer some control if you’re target farming.

The Purveyor of Curiosities

I mentioned Obols earlier, and they are a fantastic way to farm for specific Legendary Aspects. You can get Obols from Legion and World events. Once you have a full stack of Obols, take them to the Purveyor and try your luck. You can pick specific gear to draw from the Purveyor of Curiosities random loot, so that will increase the chances of getting Legendary gear from this character. Just let the RNG work in your favor!

Be sure to find whatever game event or mode you prefer, but I strongly recommend going after those Nightmare Dungeons in both Tier 3 and Tier 4 difficulties. Higher drop percentages are music to the ears for the many Diablo 4 players who are still farming for a specific Unique item.
