Developed by Joseph “Akabaka” Hunter, DreadXP’s 90s anime-inspired visual novel Sucker For Love: Date to Die For will come out for Steam on April 23.

Following up the release of Sucker for Love: First Date, Sucker For Love: Date to Die For brights with it a new protagonist, new abominable love interests, new occult rituals, and heartache in spades.

This love letter to Lovecraftian horror flips the script by focusing on the madmen and monsters under the eldritch gods, rather than the gods themselves. For fans of the genre, inspirations included “The Dunwich Horror” and “The Shadow over Innsmouth.”

Featuring 360-degree hand-drawn environments, Sucker For Love: Date to Die will feature a first-person adventure game navigation style. To truly add to the experience, this title features nostalgic-style art that harkens back to old school anime and classic dating sims.
